Good morning everyone. Thanks to Pete and Sam for having me join the Two Deep podcast last night to talk about the Hokies recruiting class and incoming transfers, plus a detailed discussion about portal addition in waiting quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer. Note, as soon as Grunkemeyer's commitment is confirmed publicly, we have a film review in the can.

Plus as a bonus, I botch names AND use Johnny Bench/Thurmun Munson metaphors.

I try to say it as often as possible, but I am thankful for the work you do here, French. I started this pod when I got to work this morning without reading the description, and I was stoked to realize you were on it to breakdown the incoming transfers. Shoutout to the 2Deep boizs as well.
Thanks once again to French for being an awesome guest! We really appreciate his insight. Hitting the Hilson stuff right off the top was so fun. Very excited for his potential.
Let's hope we get Grunk in the boat here soon!
It was a pleasant surprise to hear who the guest was when I hit play this morning on the way to work. Thanks to French and the TwoDeep guys for all you do.
Lots of great nuggets in there. French is a tough, but fair critic. Was very pleased and excited to hear his commentary regarding our transfers.
Love how he described Grunk's strengths. The guy sounds like a QB surgeon. Love his take on what he believes are our top two defensive returners in Chambers and Robinson in two positions of great need.
And, my favorite little nugget that got me all toasty inside.....and I quote Mr. French Sticks w/ Syrup:
"Bill Davis is a 5'9" version of Branden Ore.
At 235 lbs, if he resembles one of the greatest RB's that never was at VT, then we are in for a treat next season. To this day, I still wonder what Brandon Ore would have done....
Can't remember the game but he had a cut where he was almost parallel with the ground. I thought he had great balance. Sad to see him go.
As the esteemed president of the Branden Ore fan club, I approve this message. Loved that guy, hope he got his shit together.
He was so good, one could tell from the limited time he played. The one thing I thought he was brilliant at was two fold. One, his patience waiting for the blocking to open a sliver of a hole for him to run through and two, knowing the exact time to burst through it. He was a smart RB, flashy as hell. I believe he would have lit this place on fire.
limited playing time, for ore? He is 5th in VT career rushing yards
Should have been so much higher had he not been kicked off the team prior to his senior season
Most of it was in 06 and 07. Poor choice in words. I was thinking more along the lines of Alum. Was so excited for his senior year. Very unfortunate he was booted by CFB.
I thought his biggest strength was he always fell forward (adding 1-2 yards to every run). I'm sure it can be fact checked, but would beat he had a sick ratio of positive yard runs.
As always, French, I very much appreciate your work.
Thank you for linking this here for us all. I was able to listen today on my commute and very much appreciate your takes.
Would love to hear your thoughts about the new OT from Oklahoma... Is he our new LT?
Would they allow Grunk to keep on a slow mesh, even if only for a yard or two, to keep a defense honest?
