Its a good thing Whit moved it along and got Buzz in the fold when he did because Tennessee probably would have come calling on Buzz if they hadn't. They might still offer overtures to the effect. One more Kudos to Whit for getting it done.

Do these people realize that no one wants to work at Tennessee??? Here's a good article on why very few coaches will want that job and why I can guarantee that Buzz Williams could give two shits about that job.

Considering we gave Buzz a very nice contract in terms of salary and years, I'm not sure UT would offer more from that perspective. I think they'll look elsewhere, with Gregg Marshall being their top target.

A day after Buzz was announced (I hadn't seen the news yet), I was thinking "how about Cuonzo Martin?" Don't decapitate me if that would have been a bad choice, I didn't investigate him very deeply at all, but just looking on the surface of his success at Tennessee, and thinking he might get better results in the ACC.
Cuonzo Martin seems to be a really good coach. his problem? he wasn't Bruce Pearl. Many, MANY Vol fans like a smarmy guy who cheats while also turning in other cheaters. It's the SEC way. Not to mention, they liked Pearl's brashness and theatrics. It's pretty similar to how many NC State fans still get pine for a Jimmy Valvano clone.
If "get pine" isn't a sneaky way of saying they have a hard-on for anyone that reminds them of Jimmy V, it oughta be.
