Hatin On: UVa Alums

...because it's always the right time to hate on UVa.

(Based on a conversation I had earlier today with a UVa alum):

UVa alums brag about UVa being mentioned more often in the Epstein files than Virginia Tech.

A little off topic here: Apologize for being less active than usual these days. Spent the past few months accepting a dream job as a consultant working with professional sports teams and college athletic programs, traveling cross country to Las Vegas, adopted the most adorable little beagle and pursuing a childhood dream of playing poker semi-professionally.

Now that I'm settled down, I'll be back to my usual shenanigans #freeDC #shesqualified #SethDooleyFucks

Beagle pic required.

I need it for my spreadsheet!

Props to you, that all sounds awesome. I mean, I have a beagle rescue, but I can only imagine the other things you listed.

Geez. How many of us have rescued beagles?

Never Forget #1 Overall Seed UVA 54, #64 UMBC 74

I've rescued 2, and a pit bull chihuahua mix

I've had two rescued greyhounds, a rescue whippet, and a rescue beagle bred for laboratory use.

We rescued a beagle and a beagle peke mix, two of the best dogs we've ever owned. We've rescued too many dogs to bore you with the recount, and found homes for the ones we couldn't keep because the inn was full.

We have a beagle that was an abandoned hunting dog. I can see how he didn't make it as a hunting dog (he can be a real idiot), but he's the sweetest thing in the world so I can't imagine how anyone could've abandoned him. Beagles are the best.

Damn, how's bragging camp going?

I hate rude behavior in a man. Won't tolerate it.

one click shows Wagoneer's been around TKP for 7 years. Sheesh. Everyone take a nap, have a snickers or something.

Lol - went through a rough stretch of unemployment prior to this moment. Just happy things are finally coming together.

UVa alums get into a food donation contest with VT alums and when it's clear they are going to lose in the amount of food collected, they get some rich polo-wearing, Zima-swilling douche who did not actually bring in much food to write a big check for the equivalent of X-many pounds so they can "win" the food donation contest.

UVa alums also knowingly donate food to the food bank in 2026 that has expired in 2024 so people can see them bringing in a big box of stuff and virtue signal.

I think the first one is how it's SUPPOSED to work and is OK. How do you think universities get buildings? Wealthy people establishing a legacy of good works greater than other wealthy people. Like Bill Gates working hard not to pay taxes, but being very generous with establishing (tax-free) philanthropy in his own name.

The second one, of course, is solid "hatin' on" material.

Which employs people he likes and pays them. Just like the Clinton Foundation was set up to employ their daughter.

UVa alums think cricket is more fun than the Iditarod.

Do you mean croquet? Bc cricket is actually pretty awesome and not posh enough for UVA

Too third world for them.

No, meant cricket. Ties in with the dad jokes thread.

Why was sloth racing invented?
Because some people find cricket too exciting.

I don't understand, cricket is a better watch than baseball tbh

In fairness, and full disclosure, probably about 95% of my thoughts on cricket are based off of the views of (1) my old girlfriend in grad school (Frosty's original mother) and (2) my wife describing cricket, how long it was, and how much they hated it.

They may have different religions, and their family roots may lie on different sides of the Line of Control between India and Pakistan, but they'd both agree that having to watch multi day cricket matches lies somewhere between watching paint dry and Chinese water torture.

ODI cricket is sooooo much more watchable than test cricket.

You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket.

Croquet is kind of fun, because it's a sport you play, not just watch.

uva alums are so self conscious about their insecurities that they more often than not claim that they're almost ivy league...

uva - the taint of the ACC
Callused perineum is a symptom of being a uva fan

Learning to grow Ivy on a building does not make one Ivy league

They can't even do that. Until his retirement a few years ago, their chief horticulturist was a fellow named Jay Klingle, a VT grad. They even named a tree after him when he left.

UVA alums don't watch LOLUVA sports, but still brag about anything positive that shows up about them on the headlines of their news feed.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

The Victorians were too wild for UVA.

Franklinstein Monsters (OL)

That's funny, as they look kind of the same now.

Standard student dress for early 1900's LOLUVA football games...

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

Fuck LOLUVA alums. Also fuck the current students.

That is all.

My wife takes the kids and leaves the house while I watch my Hokie games.........nuff said

Except Fontel Mines and Vic Hall, they're cool

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

Nah, I can't let that go without a caveat. My Hokie bro's wife is an alum, and I have several friends in the Charlottesville area that are fine people, smart as whips and funny as hell. We have fun with the rivalries, though they've cooled over the years as we already know how each other thinks about the wins or losses, and their disappearance in football. And truth be told, I know several uva alums casually as well, and only a couple are true assholes. I have a ton of friends and acquaintances who are Hokie alums, and more than a couple are true assholes, so there's that. On game day, we ain't pals, but I don't hate them the rest of the time. UVA itself though, that's a 50 year hatred that ain't going to cool until my body cools and eternity looms.

Come on, be honest, you will carry that beyond the veil.

Good Lord, I hope not, but were it to be the case, I've earned it fair and square.

LOLuva students figure out they're in the Bad Place slower than Jason Mendoza.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

I don't know about their idiot alumni, but I do know one of their current WRs is in a while boatload of legal trouble right now and probably should not have been allowed to play last season

Well, at least he managed to play the entire season before being indicted.

Because everyone has their priorities.

Really? Have we become comfortably numb?

So we all know the VT tradition of the snowball fight on the Drillfield? I saw a Facebook video the other day - after the snow/ice, UVA posted a video of someone ice skating very daintily on the "grounds." I guess that's what they do on a snow day, lol.

So we all know the VT tradition of the snowball fight on the Drillfield

Do we know whether or not JMFF participated this year?

I seldom speak to loluva grads, but when I do, I tell them I want large fries.

I feel like Pry would've hyped the shit out of it to him, but if he did participate, it would've been all over social media. I'll give him a pass as it would've been prime time "get shit figured out at VT" season after just being hired and he might've not been around.

"Nooooooooooo!"
