Imagine these for Football on an Exit Light Friday Night Blackout Game
Yeah, they look sharp, but our school colors are not black and other than some blackout game, we here at the fish house want to see orange and maroon unis in all sports with white being necessary for home games.
We've been irritated about this for a while and understand most folks here seem to want all kinds of unis, and maybe it's because we're oldsters, but black don't cut the mustard with us.
Highly disagree. Before we were Maroon and orange. We were black. The uniforms look sick. Get over it

I like the black unis to a point, but it's also nice to flip through channels and instantly know a VT team when you see orange and maroon in the uniform. It's part of who we are. No red team blue team shit here.
Seriously, I don't care about downvotes, people do what they do, care about what they care about and that's all part of life's rich tapestry. I do think the unis look good, no doubt. As for black being our colors, I've only been a fan since the late 60s, back when we were VPI, and I just don't remember any black uniforms until very recently, but I'll drop this altogether since I doubt seriously if I'll change my opinion just because somebody I've never met didn't like it.
Black and Grey were the official colors until 1896. Orange and Maroon were first worn by the football team against Roanoke in October 1896.
We need to meet up and yell at clouds one day. I'll bring a 30 rack of Busch Light and we can tell fishing lies.

Ahhh, just the pigeon we real fishermen need for our inaugural Fishin' Poker game. I'll come up with some rules and we'll be off. That'll give me something to do whilst I heal from my knee replacement, other than yelling at the TV.
I've pretty much avoided fishing my whole life because my ADD brain doesn't have the patience for it. But since I've moved to a home on the water (Bush Mill Stream off the Great Wicomico River), I've been wanting to learn and maybe start some kayak fishing. Soooo much to learn.
And poker? I'll be there.
The way I fish around here doesn't require patience as much as persistence. We move a lot, casting and retrieving instead of casting, grabbing a seat and a beer and waiting for the fish to bite. Far cry from little Opie Cunningham and the cane pole fishing I grew up on.
Fishing is too important for lies, except for wheres and with whats, but I've got a million stories. While Busch Light ain't my usual brew, it'll do just fine cold, though I've drunk enough warm beer to be able to enjoy it enough after getting past the first couple or three. Sounds jolly and everyone I've actually met from TKP has been great to fish with good fellers. So we should seriously investigate the possibility of a beer and a hearty hollerin' to the clouds.
Will a 30 rack be enough?
It will not be enough but I didn't want to scare anyone.
I'd rather fish than breathe but I don't get the opportunities I used to. I'll throw some ideas out in the fishing forum when I get some time - sounds like a great idea.

For the record, I saw a downvote for APrimus, I didn't do it. His opinion is as important to him as mine is to me. I'm heading back up there to try to even it back up.

I understand that, but have a different feeling about it. No, I don't think nothing should ever change, and I know that I am out of step with the younger folk on this, as well as several other things. I guess that's natural as generations progress, but I do think that there's nothing wrong with a program's decades long traditions. All that should matter is they like them though? I'm not so sure about that. We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one, as I think fans and donors matter as well. Me? I don't matter much, just wanted to say what I felt about it. So have a leg and know that we're both rooting for the same team regardless of their colors of the moment and how I feel about them.

Great weekend for sure. 2 great road tournaments against ranked SEC teams. Kind of baffling how they lost to Charlotte for the second year in a row. Glad they regrouped and got it back on track at UGA
