Came across a pretty good article from Doug Doughty at the Roanoke Times on the incoming class for the Lady Hokies. There are five players in the class highlighted by a JUCO transfer ranked 9th in the Nation, three top players from VA/NC and a 6'3 forward from Sweden

Several of these recruits could have an instant impact on improving the team. I would expect Magarity, Powell and possibly Croker to all see significant time next season.
Croker's stat line from high school is impressive, 954 Blocks and more than 1000 points and rebounds. Being able to adjust an opponents shot is so important in the women's game which is why I could see her being on the floor early and often.
Profiles on the players that I could find:
Powell
Summary of Powell's actual stats
Blaire
Four star forward rated in the top 100 for the 2014 class
Camp
Just missed a fourth star in her ranking coming in at 3 Stars with an 89 rating. She is a slashing type combo guard with a pretty solid 15 foot jump shot which will be key in creating shots next season.
Croker Another high ranked three star recruit, this time on the interior, where she is a monster in terms of rebounding and defending the rim. She has work to do on the offensive end in terms of expanding her range and developing further her creation of a shot with her back to the basket. Good potential to play a sixth man role next season for Wolff.

Rob, would happen to know why our current roster is full of Matildas (Australians)?
Did we do a road show down there or have some pipeline to the land down under? I lived there for 2 years so just interested.
They were drawn once they heard we had a Foster.
I cant draw a direct connection but looking at their backgrounds, Penn, Panousis and Young were all teammates on the Australian U-19 squad so I imagine with Wolff's penchant for bringing in foreign talent, he was at a U-19 World Championship in 2012 and offered them there and continued to pursue them. Its one way to try to get quasi equal talent without having to directly compete with the blue bloods for US talent.
The same kind of process probably went into bringing Campbell and Hill from the Canadian U-18/19 squads where they were teammates.
Last years roster only had one woman from the state of Virginia, and had six from outside the US.
The lack of girls from Virginia and specifically the hampton roads area is a big reason why Jermaine Woods was hired. He graduated from Norfolk State and coached at Maury High so he has ties to the area. So I would expect a shift soon in the direction of the roster to include more VA talent as well as to continue hitting the JUCO and foreign route pretty hard.
Dennis has a connection in Australia and in I believe Nigeria. That is how he found out about Uju. He seems pretty excited about the players coming in and I don't think it will stop at 5 because he wants to bring in 7 total so I would expect 2 more girls if the players he wants are still out there.
