Hokies softball picked up another series win in taking down the Wahoos in two out of three games to win the Commonwealth Clash. A 3-1 week overall moved the Hokies into the Top 10. They got some great results in ACC play. FSU was swept by Stanford. Duke also went 2-1 against UNC so we keep pace there but unless Duke lays an egg at Boston College or home against Clemson, it will not be possible to catch them for regular season title.
Really wish the ACC would expand the number of series teams play and cut back the OOC a bit. As it stands teams only play 8 of 15 teams so you get some huge variance in strength of schedule and opportunities to catch up. Possibly even look at ways to play two teams a weekend from Thursday to Sunday similar to how the OOC weekends work.

This week the Hokies have a game at Liberty (20-21) Wed 6pm ESPN+
This weekend they are home against Georgia Tech (26-22, 8-10). They have installed additional seating for this series anticipating a higher turnout due to the Spring Game for Football. It also puts the first two games on ACC Network rather than extra.

The extra seating is nice. I've been wanting to go too some games this year. But if you aren't there like an Hour and a half before game start. You are going to have hard times finding a seat

We already played radford twice. And JMU doesn't like playing tech in softball
One of the radford games was a neutral tournament game, same way we played JMU once.
Facing Radford and JMU too many times would tank our RPI. Liberty may be having a down year. But still are a top 75 team in RPI. JMU is 99th. And Radford is in the 140s. I want the softball team to Host this season. So they help better

VT must have been pissed about the judges ruling because they smoked Biberty 9-0 tonight.
Hokies run rule walk off GT 10-2
Trail 2-0. Carrico gave up a 2 run homer

Yaeger bases loaded walk makes it 3-1 but only run they get with bases loaded and one out

Walk loads the bases with one out and GT leadoff hitter up with a homerun already today.

Hokies got 2 on for Lynch but a third grounder to short in the inning ends it.
Hokies lose the game, the series and possibly the chance to host a regional with two of highest attendance crowds watching on.
Ladies went 6 for 30 with runners on base. They drew 12 walks today but left 10 on base. Georgia Tech got to Mazzarone early with 3 run homer in 1st and a solo Homer in 3rd.
Game turned though on error by Lynch in the 4th with two outs. Led to two unearned runs on following two at bats and that was the difference in the game.
