3* for 247 in house, 4* for composite from Texas. Also ran a 10.41 second 100 meter dash. Had offers and took visits with Oregon, SMU, and Florida. He's currently rated as the No. 363 prospect in the nation according to 247, 50th overall from Texas and 28th best RB recruit in the nation.

Question for the group: why do we have 3 RB commits?
I have no authoritative answer, but I'm more inclined to trust James Franklin than Justin Fuente.
With Fuente, the asterisk indicated another digit. We had like 32 RB commits
Because we a 2 healthy rbs right now
And half of the country transfers every year anyways so may as well stock up
The RB roo we have now is actually full of ghosts. There are names, but no real bodies.
Because of injury?
That's what is sounding like. The room seems to be hobbled or not impressing. LBs had to take RB snaps in the spring game, that should say something.
triple option?
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit
Thin room in 2027. We are short on fast guys. Two of the three can play other positions at a high level.
When we were at our best we rolled at least 2 high end RBs deep to rotate throughout games. And I mean that back to the early 2000s starting with Jones and Suggs (and I only say that because I forget if Suggs and Ox overlapped).
This is Franklin getting back to that. We're also adding high end recruits all over the field, so there isn't much to worry about in regards to roster construction. We're just going to be better.
Stith was the guy between ox and suggs. I dont think Ox was there with Suggs as I believe suggs was redshirt in 99, but I could off a year.
Stith and Andre Kendrick were the dynamic duo before thunder and lightning.
I wouldnt call Kendrick dynamic
the thunder before the lightning.
Because in today's NIL game, maybe, maybe, 1 of them will ever take a snap in O&M
I dunno. I'm hoping Franklin and Co. have a plan that considers that contingency, and I'm so sold on him that I'm going to worry about it when the time comes.
We also have 20 more scholarships/roster spots than Fuente did.
Roster size is now at 105 so we will be overtaking in certain areas compared to historical expectations.
Franklin is taking the Fuente approach. Isn't it obvious?
CJFs gonna CJF
#TX2VT the sequel....
Except this time, 80% don't decommit before signing day.
#TX2VT2: Messing with Texas
Yes, May our new priest exorcise the demons that have been haunting our program for years.

Ladies and Gentlemen.... I watched some of this kid's film and let me say he is a DUDE.
He is shifty, explosive, quick, and fast. He is a patient runner who also runs with some strength. His team lines up in various formations so he's used seeing the field in multiple ways. And once he breaks loose, he is headed for the stables. On top of all that, he has a really good frame that appears able to carry another 15 lbs. His film puts off some serious RMFW vibes.
If he comes in, commits to the S&C program, and stays healthy he could be a VT great.
EDIT: One of the key things that makes him like RMFW is his explosiveness. When you watch his film and he's waiting for a little hole to open up... or when he decides to make a cut... Those initial 2-3 steps when he decides to go are explosive. That was one of the things that made RMFW so great.
Always good to see a reference to the team the ACC considers our play-every-year-no-matter-how-much-the-world-changes rival. I love playing those guys, always an exciting atmosphere. Especially at their stadium.
I just like Steve Addazio. He's a dude.
I never understood the hate on BC. Honestly, if you said I could wave a wand and pick any ACC team to win the conference in football but it could not be VT, I'd have picked BC. Hard-working, blue-collar team that did not have a lot of stars but played old-fashioned smash-mouthed football and punched above their weight. Reminded me of VT in a lot of ways. Now this is based off of the time when VT and BC were both still good teams.
I get people can criticize the fans (or lack thereof) and the small stadium, but I liked the team and coaches more than any other non-VT ACC team. Shame they did not have the fans to appreciate what that team was able to do back when they were pretty solid.
maybe i'm wrong but F*ck Matty Ice. everytime i think of BC
You ain't wrong. I was at that game and can still see that second TD pass in my mind's eye.
Fuck Matt Ryan
Yes.
Also, fuck Pat Narduzzi.
Are you being held hostage?
Give me this all day...

Seems crazy to me that was 16 years ago. I miss watching him play.
That particular play is amazing to watch to this day. I just sit there dumbfounded at how a guy drags an adult of that size, that far, and appears to weigh "nothing", while others are pursuing him. And,.........he still RMFW's himself into the endzone.
Thats a whole other level of human phenomenon.
It doesn't have the legendary status of others because we won that game handily, but i feel like it has to be a top 10 hokies play of the modern era
Its one of the two running plays i love to watch the most with thr other being Quincy Wilson hitting Brandon Merrieweather and then hurdling him when WVU played Miami.
EDIT: dammit I just rewatched it and the Quincy play wasnt a run but a screen pass.
Regardless it was SPECTACULAR!!!!!!
I couldn't take merriweather seriously in the NFL because of that play
I feel like he got blown up on blocks by Hokies a few times too
This is probably RMFW's best run, the TD against Alabama. He does four things really well...
1. He does a little sidestep to get to the hole, but he still hits the hole hard.
2. He has a great cut to the outside.
3. He races the defense to the corner and down the sideline.
4. He dives out of bounds, but reaching the ball in bounds and around the pylon for the TD.
Fantastic run all around.
Note that at :56, the guy on the telestrator draws it wrong. He shows the center (60) pulling and leading RMFW through the hole, but what he really does is get help from the right guard (68) in reaching on the DT (55), then sealing him to the left and out of the play. The right guard then climbs to the second level and blocks the linebacker (30), getting him just enough that RMFW can bounce outside of him.
Looking further, the right tackle (62) and tight end/slot receiver (88) double-team the left defensive end (97), keeping him out of the play. The left guard (70) and tackle (77) handle the right defensive tackle (62) and end (32) with ease, keeping them from affecting anything. The flanker on the right (26) pancakes his cornerback (24?), and the cornerback on the other side is just too far away. That leaves the two high safeties (4 and 27), and the middle (25) and right (28) linebackers that can stop RMFW.
The safety on the play side (4) charges up to run fit, but is out of place for the bounce outside, and RMFW races past him. The safety on the far side (27) never gets close enough, as I think he doesn't come far enough over, and is therefore too far to chase him down. That leaves the middle linebacker (25)--who is caught behind the right guard's block on the play-side linebacker--and the far-side linebacker (28), who eventually chases RMFW down and knocks him out of bounds. RMFW anticipates this, though, and rotates his body so that he can stretch his arms out around the pylon for the touchdown.
I originally thought this was a just a fantastic display of RMFW's skill and athleticism, and I'm not wrong about that, but it was heartening to see just how well blocked this play was. I hope we can get back to this.
Also note: This took waaay too long for me to analyze. I need to get back to work. I don't know how you do this, French. If I had to do your analysis articles, it would take me more than a week.
When they showed the score after the TD there was a 7 in front of VA TECH. What does that mean?/s
We were ranked 7th.
It means it was a long, long time ago. When I could still remember how that music used to make me smile.
I thought me and Qui-gon Jinn could talk the Federation in to maybe cutting them a little slack.
I loved watching RMFW run the football.
Go watch Javian's film... He definitely has some similarities in his running style.
RMFW is my favorite VT RB
Same. I have only one VT jersey but it is that one - #34.
Not only is he my favorite, I'd argue he's the best all around RB we've ever had. His combination of power, vision, shiftiness and speed in the open field was awesome. It's a damn shame injuries robbed his NFL career.
I wouldnt argue against that statement
This could very well be his best but I also have a soft spot in my heart for the run where he dragged Earl Wolfe ten yards to the end zone
I believe the appropriate response is "drink"?
Ah I see. Gulp
The biggest take away from "old" VT highlights is that we haven't watched a really good VT team play in HD yet. Maybe we need to go back to the 640x480 res broadcasts this year to really be back.
I'll add the Darren Evans flattening of the Maryland player as a great one to watch.

Hell yeah. A good running back will make such a difference. Think about our 2022 and 2025 offenses that didn't have Tuten, and then compare to our 2023 and 2024 offenses that did have him.
Yes lots of other guys were important, but it's tough to be a good offense without a good rb. Hell I feel like our 2020 offense was good primarily because we had Herbert.
Having a couple beasts will also mean we don't have to run them into the ground
We usually have a good RB. They just line up at QB some times.
I am straight up having a good time
We now have a Priest and a Messiah in the running back group.
Just need one more then we can do this on HokieVision

Blues Brothers or God Squad?
