Finally impact and compression technology being applied to helmets. It's not like Duma and VT has been saying this for the past decade. oh wait, yes, yes they have...
Virginia Tech is checking them out first should have been the answer for all of the NCAA and the NFL before a player put it on their head. Still haven't figured out why they haven't made this a mandatory evaluation prior to sale of any helmet for sports.

Yeah. I remember when VT first started doing these tests I wondered, "Why did no one do these tests before?" Especially when the really high tech super duper extra mega expensive safe helmets turned out to be the worst.

Thank you for clarifying that. Living in a part of New York dominated by coverage of the Giants and Jets, I tend to get sick of hearing about the damn team, I cannot stand them, but then again I'm bitter because I'm a long suffering Bills fan.

I'm so sorry. What do you think of Donald Trump wanting to buy the team? I would not trust him to not move the franchise to Toronto before the ink was dry on the contract.

Not according to the article on ESPN the other week, The Bills, the City, and the NFL all approved the last contract it was about 3 inches thick of double sided 8 1/2 by 11 paper.

tbh, I prefer him to Jon Bon Jovi who clearly wants to move it to Toronto. I don't trust Trump, but I don't have much choice. It's either believe he'll keep them there or sell to someone who has already said he will move them. No win either way.

That actually works in his favor if he is already in the club. Remember, the new Browns owner was a minority owner of the Steelers before buying the Browns.

It is as though he resigns himself to no Gatorade, despite the fact that the bucket is right there. I guess spigot operation is a graduate level course at WVU.

I've always wondered why they don't make helmets with two rigid layers seperated by a thin gap, pull a vacuum on the gap and seal it. Mechanical energy can't propagate through a vacuum.

I would think the mechanical energy would propagate through the material making up the boundary of the vacuum. You might actually be making a bit of a tuning fork out of the helmet

good article on the research here:

Now they just need to send this helmet over to Tech so we can start testing.
I tweeted the equipment staff last month when I first saw them. They have them, but I don't think any players are wearing them yet.

Way too true. Why allow players to wear helmets that studies have shown to be inferior.

but they cant fix...

stupid
That kind of mental aptitude is definitely worth the 39th pick in the NFL draft. J-E-T-S-Jets-Jets-Jets!
Disclaimer: I am not a Jets fan, I actually have self-respect.
This is MV7s competition to start ... liking his chances.

The Bills contract with Buffalo is that the team can't be moved until 2020 at least, and if they do the Owner has to pay the City $400,000,000.
Trump has some of the best lawyers in the biz. I am sure he could find a way out of that contract if push came to shove.

and I'm thankful for that.

Isn't Bon Jovi already one of the part owners of the Dolphins?
if he is, he can have the Dolphins

who said that?!?!
Bon Jovi's a former owner of the Philadelphia Soul: (arena league)

Actually, HOKIE Bryan Randall is on the Soul's current roster.
To add insult to injury, it doesn't even look like there is any gatorade in that cup
good catch- maybe why he hangs his head so low

it was dramatic effect he knew we'd be watching this years later
It was truly my honor to green this comment
The chin strap is basically an application of snowboard binding straps that have been around for a long time. Good idea!

Looks like that degree is paying off!
