Our heavier weights just got a huge boost on the coaching side with the announcement that Ty Walz has been hired as an assistant coach. Walz is arguably the best heavyweight to ever wrestle for the Hokies.
He is a three time All American, and was part of the only Hokies trophy team in 2016.
He spent the last couple seasons as an assistant coach at Providence.

Couldn't be happier to have Ty back in Blacksburg. He did an awesome job at Brown, with their 197 making the blood round this year. Adding another guy that's won at a high level and seen some international success is just what Virginia Tech needed. Now let's see what he can do with some resources behind him.
