I was pretty damn confident James Franklin could turn things around. I did not expect it to be THIS fast. Pretty sure this makes it a record for blue chip prospects and we're still in good shape for some others.

I totally expected him to be recruiting this well, I would've been disappointed otherwise. I wasn't expecting the class to fill up this early however. First week of June and we already have nearly a full class.

I'd second this, my bar was medium low but he's doing stuff I figured we might see after a year or two on the field not within the first cycle. The hopium meter is through the roof

It may be a perfect storm scenario with his recruiting skills AND VT's financial commitment.
I don't think JMFF comes to VT and is so successful without out the $$.
Me likey.

Definitely agree. I thought our ceiling would be sniffing Top 15 during the cycle and finishing 18-20.
Ranking 6th isn't real due to early commits, but I still would have bet money we'd never hit that mark. Plus it's good for hype/perception for the little while it lasts.
Also the early commits may skew things a bit, but there is still something to be said about convincing this many guys to commit early. Means he is selling something well. I don't remember Fuente ever loading up on guys early in the cycle. In fact in later years it felt like the opposite - load up on lower rated guys later in the cycle when we realize we need bodies because we missed out on too many top targets

Full classes dont exist anymore. Franklin could take 40 if it works with the roster spots. Fraudriguez took over 30 last year.
Yeah I'm expecting like around 30 commits this class
Man i was super excited for him too but never expected us to have the 7th overall class at any point ever lol
Edit: make that 6th

25th should be the lowest under Franklin, small class, etc
I thought 15th was the upper limits for VT, But NIL really leveled things. The blue bloods can horde recruits.m and can't price out other teams.
Top 10 is unimaginable to me but Clemson did it and we are seeing money injected like Clemson had. They won a title first though
LETS GO!
HOKIES!!
I thought getting up Monday morning was supposed to be bad? What is going on here?!?
