What: Watching professional baseball [drinking]
Who: You. And a friend, relative, acquaintance, parolee, spouse, vagrant, significant other, Wahoo, domestic partner, Tinder date, or member of the clergy who you think would have fun at an afternoon/evening of eating, drinking, debauchery, and good-natured carousing.
Where: Nationals Park (maybe Cantina Marina beforehand/Camelot afterwards?)
Why: Because who said we only have to hang out during football season?
When: This is where it gets tricky. We want to have this on a weekend and include as many people as possible, but realize that not everyone's calendar is going to be agreeable. I'm listing dates below (with times and opposing teams, as if that may matter), and based on responses we'll make it happen.
- 5/17, Mets, 4:05pm
- 5/31, Rangers, 12:05pm
- 6/21, Barves, 7:15pm
- 7/5, Cubbies, 4:05pm
- 7/19, Brewers, 7:05pm
- 8/2, Phillies, 7:05pm
- 8/16, Pirates, 7:05pm
- 8/23, Giants, 4:05pm
Note: We anticipate a good time being had by all, but we encourage living the high life responsibly. Nats Park is conveniently located near a Metro station and you should have Uber downloaded on your phone at this point in your life. Don't drink and drive.

Can I just go ahead and say that the phrase
#natitude
is the worst thing to ever happen in professional sports?
That's a clown question, bro.
^^Might be equally as bad.
Nope. When that football team from the Ft. Worth area started calling themselves "America's Team".
That was the worst thing to happen, not just in professional sports, but across the country.
Personally I think 'selfie' is that worst word. But yeah natitude is right up there as well.
Yeah. Is it weird that I feel like punching a 13-15 yr old every time I hear it?
Wahoo?!?

I really hope you mean the fish.
Yes, especially now that they finally have good local beer in the park!
Beer is now $9, I ain't made of that kind of beer money so I'd recommend drinking at the Fairgrounds or the new bar The Big Stick beforehand
Or do yourself a favor and go see the Potomac Nationals when one of the big names is rehabbing in the minors after being on the DL. Go Thursdays for $1 beer night too.
Doug Fister is likely to start there on Sunday. First look at the major off-season acquisition.
I laughed out loud at "Tinder Date." I'm always up for a Nats game. I'm down to going on any of those games. VividSeats.com usually has great ticket prices. Sometimes as low as $2. I can save the rest for beer money
So, so down with this
Great idea. I can go to any game besides 5/17 or 5/31. I love 4 PM games, so if I had to vote would say 7/5 vs the Cubbies or 8/23 vs the Giants (but any of the other games are still cool with me).
Would we get group seats, or just have everybody buy the cheapest ticket they can and then meet at the Red Porch and watch the game from the bar up there (plenty of standing space)?
I'm a Cubs fan so I'll be there for that entire series.
I'm down for the "Barves" game on June 21. Chop chop.
I was just thinking that I want to get up there for a Phillies game. Maybe that can be my belated birthday present for myself.
I'd be down for anything except 5/17, and maybe 8/16 / 23, depending on whats happening then
This just makes me think what if HOAT had a tinder account. I wonder how many matches.
whats tinder
It's when the meat is easy to chew.
I only eat hay and oats.
And the occasional apple.
No sugar cubes?
That's why I felt comfortable defining it for you, you don't have that kind of experience.
Anything else I can do for you, just let me know.
Carrots?
So earlier today I was tindering in Blacksburg for the first time, and this came up:

Totally swiped right.
my 2 cents: either July date or 8/2 and 8/23.
All of the listed games are on Saturday, so Miller Light Party Night and Harris Teeter Family Fun Pack is available for all of them. Additionally, the following Promotional Events are scheduled:
5/17, Mets, 4:05pm - Armed Forces Day/Pups in the Park
5/31, Rangers, 12:05pm - None
6/21, Barves, 7:15pm - None
7/5, Cubbies, 4:05pm - Performance T-Shirt
7/19, Brewers, 7:05pm - NatsLive Free Postgame Concert
8/2, Phillies, 7:05pm - None
8/16, Pirates, 7:05pm - NatsLive Free Postgame Concert
8/23, Giants, 4:05pm - None
The Nationals have not announced the postgame concert schedule yet.
I'd say 5/31 vs the Rangers just for the potential of Joe Saunders pitching. Hokies watching Hokies.
Okay the votes are tallied and the East German judge has weighed in...it looks like a good enough consensus is here for the 6/21 game against the Bravos (when some Richmond Hokies will also be in town, further enchubbening this already large party).
As @shakeitallabout stated above, this is one of the Miller Lite Party Nights, so I would encourage everyone to buy your ticket (and review all relevant information) at the link below.
I don't expect to go anywhere near my seat between availing myself of the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk bar and the Red Porch, so I'm not worried about my ticket is...for those of you who care about watching baseball and want to coordinate seating with friends: you're on your own for that. And, if we can't have more Hokies attend this game than there were UVA fans at their Spring Game, well, I'll never do this again.

Sounds like a plan, thanks for organizing!
Count this Richmond Hokie in.
sorry, didn't read last post. please ignore!
BUMP FOR THIS IS HAPPENING ON SATURDAY
If they win will there be a free Papa John's?
Only if the Nats score 7 or more runs. And it's 50% off, not free.
I should be there on Saturday. We are awaiting the good word on @MsSusieCue's schedule before buying tickets.
Looks like the Miller Lite Party Night packages are sold out. Plenty of seats available starting from $16. If you're just trying to hang with TKP folks, just buy the cheapest seat you can, because you won't even see it.
Now we need a pregame plan. Options include: the Bullpen/Fairgrounds, Cantina Marina, or one of the multiple new places open right around Nats Park. My only loyalty is to alcohol, so I'm open to suggestions and democracy about the spot. I think we should all meet by 6:30 in the Bullpen to walk in together, but I'm not a cruise director, so you can ultimately do as you please.
Not sure what our total headcount is going to be, but Bullpen/Fairgrounds would probably be easiest with a bigger group. I may have to meet up with ya'll at the Red Loft though so don't take this as a vote from me, just a +1 that Bullpen is probably best bet.
Got it.
Anything been finalized with this yet?
Plan is to meet at the Fairgrounds (also known as The Bullpen, right outside the Navy Yard metro station - NOT one of the bullpens inside the park).
I saw Jeff say on twitter to meet there anytime after 5 (he can correct me if I'm wrong), so let's go with meeting there between 5-6:15 so we can move to the park by 6:30 or so?
