No, I have not. But I have seen this movie many times where Miami is an elite team in July, August and September. As I mentioned, they did put it together last year. And may do it again and again. But I'm curious to see if that will be the case. Just like I'm curious to see if VT can stop having WTF losses or if Franklin coached teams can beat teams with similar or modestly superior talent as well.

First of all, they put it together last year, and have since upgraded every position group except DE (although the missouri transfer they got is supposedly a beast). They upgraded/improved at QB, CB, WR, RB, and LB. I don't know much about their OL, but that's the one position group you can trust Cristobal to always have in a good spot.
As far as comparing this team to the team in the late aughts and 2010s, this team is better coached and better staffed. Pre-COVID, Miami was severely underinvesting in program, then the university hospital invested COVID profits into athletics, and they've been on an upward trajectory ever since.
I also think Cristobal is on the forefront of roster management in the NIL/Portal era (right up there with Cig) - Both Cig and Cristobal are spending the majority of their money on the 2-deep. Both cycle the bottom ~25% of their 2-deep each year... those guys are great at getting the right talent in the door.
Finally, their roster is better than it was in the mid to late aughts when we would routinely stomp all over their better talent. AND talent across the board is more spread out (meaning other teams are less talented).
Miami could absolutely lay an egg or two (just like they did last year), but the new post season format lets teams lay an egg or two and still win their conference/playoff games

Unfortunately, I do think the U is back to being a high or top tier team year in and year out for the forseeable future in this climate. Obviously, things can change fast in sports, but their infrastructure in regards to spending, the coaches, the roster management, etc. is very solid right now.

College football needs a heel and no one does it better than Miami. Sure Dabo is a good villain that comes off as the hero for a stretch until you learn more about him, but Saban was neutral, and I dont hate Kirby or UGA. But man I love to hate miami and that was hard to do with Randy Shannon coaching them.

And I for one am going to enjoy every second of every minute of it. Give me all the cringey footage of BB and his granddaughter crush, let it be a debacle each and every week. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch. Over the years, I think I've come to hate the tarholes almost as much as the c'ville set. I know, we will probably suffer a few humiliations of our own, but schadenfreude is part of what makes college football great, amirite?!

I wasn't aware of it until I moved to NC and started working with graduates of all the different NC universities, but UNC is the UVA of NC. Pretentious, cheese eating surrender monkeys. I always thought that was Duke, but it's not.

Have you been following what Miami has been doing in the portal and recruiting? It would a colossal failure if they don't finish top 3 in the ACC.
