Kyle Fuller - Top 10 Pick?

Looks like our favorite draft entrant is skyrocketing up the mock drafts faster than a Saturn V rocket on the way to the moon.

2 things.

1 - SI has him going #10 to the Lions
2 - Danny Coale caught that damn ball

Unfortunately I don't see him in the top 10. I see him in the middle of the first round. He is a very good overall player but he's not ranked with Gilbert and Dennard (slightly a tier below). For sure he will be a first round pick though.

I see late first early-mid second round for him. We know how great his is, but he missed almost half the season to injury and had missed games previously for injuries. If that didn't happen he'd have a ton more accolades and probably could have been Top 10.

No way he makes it past the Redskins at 34.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

There's been some chatter of the Steelers taking him at 15 if Gilbert and Dennard are gone but they haven't shown much interest that I think it will happen; they didn't even meet with him until late this week.

#1 is questionable
#2 is not

it only takes one team to like him......but I don't see it happening

Clearly the Lions have been reading our "Foe"rensics and have decided they need MORE FULLERS

if Blaine Gabbert and Christian Ponder can go top 10 then dammit so can Kyle!

cant help but wonder how the season would've went had he stayed healthy. i have no doubt he'll make a great pro

Two thoughts:

1. As good as Kyle was, it's a great feeling to think we won't actually miss him that much.

2. Paul Johnson is very excited about Kyle Fullers draft prospects.

You're saying that because of Ken Fuller and their cousin Facyson right?

Although it sounds like the D has stepped up so far this spring, but my gut tells me that VT might miss him more than we realize. Maybe not a lot, but some.

Look at the win-loss record of the team from 2011-2013 when he was fully healthy vs hurt/out...(and don't think it was a coincidence that VT's D looked great early and late in 2012 and not so good in the middle). Fuller was one of those few players whose versatility and presence on the field allowed everybody else to narrow their focus and made the sum better than the parts. Maybe Kendall will have that same impact, but I think Kyle was a little more versatile (although maybe not as good a pure cover guy).

Definitely a better tackler.

Awesome. Definitely was one of the greats for VT.

Random thought: one of the highlights against Rutgers showed one of the worst PI calls I've ever seen (the one where Kyle picked it off only to have it called back). That's a classic case of the refs bailing out the QB on a poorly-thrown ball, which is something they should never, ever do. Screw those guys. That was Kyle's ball.

Yup, the one at 3:30 I think.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

yep. and face guarding is legal in college anyway
