You forgot to mention that on that day at Scott Stadium a Hollywood film crew was in town and the folks on the near side of the field were hired extras, or so I heard.

You couldn't have asked for a better day... although I always leave the spring game with a wicked sunburn/raccoon face. You'd think I'd learn to wear sunscreen since it happens every. Single. Time.

I'm proud to say that thanks to draining my buddy's bottle of sunscreen, I escaped the Spring Game (and subsequent hours of volleyball on campus) without burning. Boo yah!

Thats seriously an accomplishment. I did put sunscreen on, but it wasnt until we were heading into lane and I had already been tailgating for about 5 hours...

I love that our Spring Game draws more fans than UVA can for a regular season game (outside of the VT-UVA game, which of course is packed full of VT fans)

That would be my guess as well. It looks to my eye like 40-ish if the East Side is as full as the West Side, but it's hard to tell. I think if we know it is 30-40K that is prideful. We're not SEC, our team was 'only' 8-5 last season & less than that the year before. We had no great recruits for a first glimpse, so we did well by all reasonable expectations. Now... not very tongue in cheek, would all those folks have still come knowing the score in advance? It might have been 25-30K. Regardless, we did well.

Personally, I don't think the score was too indicative of how the offense played. Were they lights-out? Nope. But they were solid, and definitely showed the ability to move the ball, even with mixed-up offensive lines playing against elite-to-very-good defensive lines.

Georgeous ,beautiful day, with a great Hokie turnout. What could be better?
My feeling when I saw the Spring Game crowd:

I love the crowd contrast between us and LOLUVA. Go hokies!!
That's because there is no contrast!

By the way, your quote alone is deserving enough for gobbler legs.
You missed the people in the south end zone.
the upper section wasnt full. this made for a funnier comparison.
updated to an even better photo, though.

VT wins
UVA loses
I told you guys this would happen!
Glad to say I was one of them. Any idea on the attendance?
I know on the Espn3 webcast they said close to 30,000. By the looks of the photo, possibly more.

Final "approximate" numbers should be in at some point today.
The rough estimate for the day was around 32k.
UVa doesn't show up for a spring game and we pack it in. Wake me up when that mantra changes... Its only been this way for a decade now.
My biggest take away is the maroon VT at midfield. Please tell me that's staying this season.
Honestly I didn't think it looked very "maroon"...more of a reddish. However the sun could have
been playing tricks on my eyes.
I was going to make a thread on this, with my own picture but I will just place mine here.
Was Whit in attendance?
I would expect this many people to show up if Whit was there.
