Pete Roussel embarked on a 14 day trip across 10 campuses. He stopped by Virginia Tech, toured the campus and spoke with various football staff.

Shane Beamer and the power running game:
Shane Beamer speaks bluntly about the #Hokies running game. "I'll be the first to admit..." http://t.co/MMbdY1a80s— Pete Roussel (@coachingsearch) April 27, 2014
Ill be the first to tell you that the last couple of years, we may have gotten away from that toughness a little bit. When its 3rd & 1 or 4th & 1 and you have to get a yard, hey I dont care if the defense knows what play youre running, for a long time we lined up and got that yard. We did that for a long time. Ill be the first to admit the last couple of years we havent been as productive in that area and overall from a toughness standpoint as we should have. We worked hard this spring to get that back. - Shane Beamer
Some thoughts on our amazing campus:

The campus at Virginia Tech is phenomenal.
I arrived in Blacksburg late Tuesday afternoon, checked in to The Inn at Virginia Tech, and went for a job through campus. I had been to Virginia Tech once before, but it was snowing and I didnt have a chance to go through campus. In short, Virginia Tech has one of the most beautiful college campuses in America. The architecture, horticulture, and layout of campus are a real treat. I asked Hokies running backs coach Shane Beamer if he just allows a recruit to stand in the middle of campus to soak up the beautifulness of what hes seeing. Beamer admitted that so many of the Virginia Tech coaches have toured campus for over a decade that maybe they take it for granted a little bit. As an Ole Miss alum, Id still rank Ole Miss as my favorite college campus (come on, the place is beautiful), but Virginia Tech isnt far behind.

Very intelligent & observant guy, (knows a beautiful campus when he sees it) . Notice Loluva was not mentioned, not one word about the serpentine walls.
Agree with Shane that most Hokies take the beauty of our campus for granted (I know I do).
I really like following Roussel on Twitter during the coaching changing season, after the bowls usually. He is a guy on the forefront of information.
I had a few classes at Solitude by the duck pond, and there was not a more beautiful spot in the spring.
Hey wait a tic...why is Ole Miss ranked higher than da 'burg!?!?
I can't fault the man for ranking his school higher.
SEC bag man got to him prior to the rankings...
