I had a similar experience when I lived in Terrace View during my first year of grad school. Walked out my apartment on the second floor and there were a ton of cops with vests and AR-15s. I froze in my tracks, but one of the cops just waved me down, smiled and said "have a good day, sir." I almost laughed. Turns out the people below me had been selling crack out of the apartment. I never had any idea, because they were so quiet all the time.
Damn haha I had no idea....I don't even know what DMT is let alone that people were producing and selling it right down the street....that shit is crazy
When my daughter was born, the day after we got back home, I left to make a food run.
When I was coming back 30 minutes later, the entrance to my street was blocked off with multiple police cars.
I freaked and started down the street and an officer ran out with his gun pulled to stop me.
I rolled down the window and said 'I live down there and my 4 day old daughter is there with my wife!'
He moved and waved me on-said a bank had been robbed and the suspect was in the neighborhood.
I drove home and tried to be cool so as not to worry my already anxious wife, but then she said 'what's that?' as a five person SWAT team was running through our backyard with dogs. They had spooked the suspect who proceeded to run through the yard and out to the woods in the back.
They never got him.........
A leg for the AR-15 reference.
Aw man.... You know that feeling when your favorite restaurant gets shut down?
RIP Gumby's
RIP Backstreets
Hello Mellow Mushroom
Crap.
When did Backstreet's go under?
I worked there for 2 years as a cook/delivery guy to help pay for school.
Great pizza.
The owners decided to call it quits and shut the doors, from what I've heard. Apparently they never really "went under" as far as I can tell. The Mellow Mushroom is going in that spot, though they had to tear down the building to make way for a larger one.

Off topic, but I read another article (can't seem to find it) explaining that it's tough for a lot of local restaurants (not bars) to survive in Blacksburg because the on campus food is so good. Students tend to use their dining plans instead of cash, and as a result local restaurants lose money. On campus dining halls also have plenty of grants/deals to help lower their overhead, so they can offer students the same quality food at a more convenient location and better price.
Interesting. I can believe that given my experience there. The only places I'd semi-regularly eat at off campus as a student were the cheaper places near campus, like Sub Station II or Souvlakis. Can't say I took too many regular trips to Backstreets when it was there sadly.
No, somebody had a parking ticket and they were there to collect.
Don't remind me...
Haha as someone who currently has an unpaid parking ticket, I'm really glad he did...
That was made by yours truly.
Actually, I made it separately, but I am sure you also used http://sbll.org/breakingbad/
***wrong thread***
I live in the adjacent building and the last thing I expected was to come home to was a swat team armed with assault rifles and gas masks.
Yeah no kidding nice to meet you neighbor!
Awesome! 1205?
I'm in 1208 which is right down the street by the volleyball pit
Walking back and seeing SWAT team in front yard, thinks "This probably isn't about me, but did I put my Bong away this morning?"
me whenever there's a bunch of cops at a neighbor's house
SPAGHETTT!!!!!!! SPOOKED YOU!!
