Top-Ranked Dual Threat 5-Star QB Torrance Gibson names VT in top 15

Ranked by order, VT is 12th on his list.

If you'll remember, VT offered Gibson around the same time last year as his teammate, Isiah McKenzie, whose moniker of "the human joystick" proved doubly true in the recruiting process as he juked out of both an Ole Miss and VT offer and ultimately signed a NLI to Georgia.

According to 24/7, Gibson is a 6'4", 200 lb. prospect who runs a 4.50 forty.

In his junior season for American Heritage High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Gibson rushed and passed for over 1,000 yards in each category, racking up a total of 2896 yards on the season. He averaged 206.9 yards per game.

It will be an uphill battle for Tech to reel him in, as most 'experts' have him tabbed to either UT or Ohio State.

Top 15? Why not a top 50 at this rate?

yup

I don't know how OSU has been in contention with every single decent player we are trying to recruit. It seems like it at least. I guess it's good to go after guys with a strong offer list....I trust that more than star rankings. But dang! Well once we go 2-0 against OSU maybe they'll see the light....ha ha....fingers crossed!

At least Tech is now making the top 15 of 5* recruits. The next step is to make the top 1.

UCF? Really?

The Dude Abides

UCF is a serious school, dont be too shocked. You saw what they did to Baylor. There is plenty of talent there and a huge BCS bowl win will only stockpile that talent up. Its also the second largest university in terms of enrollment so its not a small school. Plus seeing babes in bikini's all day is a win for sure.

To be fair, Bama and Michigan are probably thinking, "VT? Really?"

It says in order so we actually are ranked higher then Bama and Michigan..unfortunately that does make us below UCF and....NC State :(

Top 15?

lol good grief. There's absolutely no way he's considering 15 schools at this point. I'd even say a Top 10 would be a stretch. Not that this is his fault, he's probably got recruiting agencies in his ear begging him to release as many lists as possible to drive click counts and subscription rates.

I'm surprised we haven't seen a recruit sell his exclusive updates to one of these national subscription services.

I know Bryce Brown's "handler" set up such a model to provide updates on his recruitment but that was strictly for Bryce. I would think it would be profitable for both the recruit and site to have exclusive updates and maybe live-stream his announcement after Signing Day, to build the drama, of course.

I have a feeling such an arrangement would lead to the NCAA declaring the recruit ineligible.
