Kyle Fuller is a First Round Pick

Virginia Tech Hokies football, basketball, athletics blog and forum featuring: unique columns, breaking news, film studies, in-depth analysis, recruiting, videos and jokes.

Da Bears. There's one constant about Kyle's game, he tackles everything in the open field.

This is a kid who gave his all (that shoulder) to be a Hokie. Congrats, Kyle!

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

Wow, I knew he had the talent to be that high in the draft and I'm glad the NFL agrees. Hope he has a great career and I will always root for him.

Next is Kendall. Dare I say Top 5 in a few years?

Without a doubt.

I saw the first half of your comment and upvoted you, then I saw that you're a giants fan and down voted you. ...but I figured that wouldn't be right either, ...so I upvoted you. But I didn't want to. Lol

- Cowboys fan.

So i am allowed to downvote both of you because I am a Redskins fan???!!!! Ha Ha

There are wolves and there are sheep, I am the sheep dog

You could try but I think Kyle Fuller would intercept it.

Or the Packers.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

What song did he come out to?

edit 2hokiesin1 beat me to it

Live for 32. Ut Prosim. Let's Go, Hokies.

Only thing I'm sad about is that the suit wasn't orange and maroon.

Don't care for Chicago but will enjoy seeing him dominate for years.

Dare I say, Chicago Maroon?

This just in, The Chicago Bears are officially changing their colors to Chicago Maroon and Orange in honor of a Fuller on the team

Now he will tackle and chase his older brother at least twice a year. Exciting!

Great night to be a HOKIE. Congrags Kyle, well deserved. BTW, the VT softball team is representing very well with a nice showing so far against the cuze. 10-4 with 3 outs left

SCHokie

This guy was a beast at VT and when he was on the field he made our defense go from good to great. I hope he has a successful career in the NFL as well.

I wish Kyle could have gone within the top 10 and been the #1 CB taken, but still happy for Kyle nonetheless. And expecting Kendall to exceed that

Mistakes are always made in the 1st round... one word... Tebow

-Semper Primus

Definitely. Kyle Fuller will just end up being better than his draft position

People talk shit about Tebow, but the Broncos' first first round pick that year was Demaryius Thomas. They happened to snag him as an additional first rounder without too much finagling. And the Broncos did win the AFC West the year he was the primary starter (yes, they were 8-8.).

Live for 32. Ut Prosim. Let's Go, Hokies.

And they also made their money back on his contract with the jersey sales the night of the draft.

So angry that the Bears picked him right before the Steelers pick. So angry. I wanted a Steelers Ky. Fuller jersey

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

Dude went from a 3-star recruit,#78 or so CB in the country to the #2 CB taken and #14 overall in the NFL draft. Kudos to Coach Gray for coaching the heck outta him, his parents for making/raising him right, his brothers for preparing him from day one and Kyle himself for working his tail off to beat out 77 other dudes everyone else thought were better than he is. Keep it up, Kyle.

#needmoreFullers. Time for Vinnie to procreate!

Does anyone know how the university's studies in Fuller cloning have been going?

So true.
This is one of those moments that we get to set back and smile and see that sometimes all is right in the world.
I'm stoked for Kyle and his family.
Go Hokies!

Something I really thought was interesting was the comments of the Bears GM after the draft:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/65882/gm-confident-fuller-rig...

He was playing Georgia Tech, and they lined him up at inverted safety and ran him through the A gap against an option team to crash the mesh point between the quarterback and the fullback, Emery said in plain English. And he repetitively did that. This is one tough football player.

A big takeaway for me here is this - Bud will design a way to showcase your talent and highlight your best attributes. He will do it against our best opponents on national television. NFL coaches will be watching. If you are a talented defensive player, Bud will find a show to show that talent off on the biggest stages.

It was a catch

That play, repeated several times in that game, is my enduring memory of Kyle Fuller.

"Our job as coaches is to influence young people's lives for the better in terms of fundamental skills, work ethic, and doing the right thing. Every now and again, a player actually has that effect on the coaching staff." Justin Fuente on Sam Rogers

Me and my friend at the bar in Columbia, SC when Roger called Ky. Fuller up:

We definitely let it be known that there were Hokies in the house. And the looks we got were priceless. Totally worth going out for.

Congrats Kyle!!

Five points is a fun place.......
I bet it was crazy for Clowney.

As a Vikings fan not from Minnesota, I hate the bears more than the packers....but ill root for Kyle when he plays anyone else

Does Minnesota have a Hokie? Everyone else in the NFC North does.

ever since they took Exum I've been calling it the NFC Polytechnic.

Fun fact - the Vikings selected Exum's position coach, Mr Torrian Gray, with a second round choice in 1997 (8?). Also took VT DB Antonio Banks that year in a later round.

We need to raise money for a Fuller Farm off campus, this way every year we will have at least one Fuller!!!!

There are wolves and there are sheep, I am the sheep dog

14th Overall pick and only played in 6 games for his senior year. I believe he would have been a top 8 pick and a Thorp Finalist/Winner had he been there for all 14! games. Ill never forget the INT he had against UNC when he ripped the ball right from the receiver it was my only trip to Lane last season and Im glad I saw it in person.

The cool thing about him being in that division is that he has the opportunity to line up against both Boykin and His brother, Corey.

Good stat

Just like spring practice all over again.

I wonder if Exum and Fuller had a real bet on who would get drafted first? I hope they're still good friends and it was just a friendly bet.

Anybody else hear the Go Hokies chant in the building after he was called? I may have just been drunk.

Unfortunately I had my TV on mute as I had received an important phone call on pick 13...though while on the phone call I did audibly say "YES!" completely out of place in the conversation.

I can confirm.

Sure, just when I think I can't take another Chicago winter after 18 years the Bears also realize the value of the Fuller Dynasty. Next they'll snag Corey from the Lions and then Kendall w/ another first round pick, and Mama Fuller will get her own Bear cave and do Campbell soup commercials!

ChicagoHokie

I only upvoted for the Campbell's soup. Everything else sounded awful. #AllOfTheFullers belong in Green Bay, where they can be reunited with Jarrett Boykin.

They should build a cryogenic lab into the new indoor practice facility so we can hold on to Fuller DNA.

I'm here for the memes, I just stay for the football.

Fullerian Cloning Dynamics is progressing, but Age Enhancement Mechanics is still a decade or so away.

Never Forget #1 Overall Seed UVA 54, #64 UMBC 74

So the Bears let Devin Hester go just so Kyle Fuller can wear his number.

Incidentally, Hester will wear #17 for the Falcons.

Trippy, bro.
