Bucky Hodges might be 7 feet tall by the time season starts. He could be a nightmare for opposing teams.

At least we won't have to talk about converting any of these guys to tight end...

I bet they'd make great QBs though. Or linemen.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Wait, you can't convert a TE to TE? Then what's the point of a TE?

See THIS is how the TE joke has evolved. Kudos to vhokie.

I'm excited about having an offense that utilizes the TE. It is something that we've never really done (except for Jeff King?).

It will be interesting to see how Loeffler's offense does with a few TEs that he can depend on. Cline did a good job last year, but you couldn't expect too much out of a guy that is a true freshman that hasn't played a lot of football.

It was really encouraging seeing Cline play as well as he did last year. He could grow pretty quickly into a beast. I think getting Malleck back for this year is still big though. We'll have more experience from a blocking stand point than last year which will help tremendously. Having 4 TEs with unique skill sets has to be making Loeffler drool.

I'm really shocked at how few players were mentioned here. I mean, really, aren't all VT players TE's or simply TE-in-training? The full roster should have been discussed.

"Exit light..."

Yes: they are all 'Tight-ends In Training.'

Or, in short: T.I.T.'s.

I'm in heaven on this thread...I have never seen so many mentions of tight ends. I am like a kid in a candy store.

Wait...that didn't sound right...

I don't even......did you say..........what the.........?

Scot Loeffler can no longer say he doesnt have enough TE available. Now, he can even line up 4 TE at the same time.

Allen Ox

Semantically speaking, you can only line up 2 TEs at the same time. The other two would have to line up off the line of scrimmage, like an H-back.

What the hell is wrong with me? I read that as "romantically speaking" and was starting to wonder where you were going with this

Anybody else want to see a lot of 2 TE sets next year? Redman and anybody else gives you both a running TE and a catching TE on the field at the same time.

Power I.
Malleck and Cline on the line.
Redman lined up in front of Rogers in front of Edmunds/Williams.

Goal-line set.
Malleck, Cline, and Hodges eligible.
Rogers and Edmunds/Williams as the backs.

See, why stop at 2 TE?

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

You convinced me, more TE the better.

Andy, stand up and take a bow for this gem from your article:

Remember how much Scot Loeffler likes the tight end position? Well this year's group should be right up his alley.

Unintentional. In fact, I was trying to avoid any double entendres, which is darn near impossible when you're talking about tight ends.

So, at some point, do you sit down with your article, look it over, say "there's no way not to write this filthy" and then just dive down the double entendre rabbit hole?
