I posted this in the comments section of the film review, but I felt it needed to have it's own post. It's time to regroup and change our thinking a little bit. I don't think we should necessarily be calling for people's heads just yet. I explain why I believe we have some good things to take from our current situation after the break.
I agree that there needs to be some changes made on the offense, but at the same time, we shouldn't necessarily be all doom and gloom right now. Honestly, I know we were all HOPING that we could pull a title run out of our asses, as we hope before every season, but WHO in their right mind thought that this was going to be "our season"?
Additionally, yeah, it sucks we lost to Cincy that way. It was scarily similar to the way Boise St ended. Maybe FedEx just hates our freakin' guts. But there ARE positives people. It may not have started to develop until the second half, but our offense started to get a little rhythm going. I saw great things out of our running backs, and even though we didn't win, I think they had breakout performances. Defense played OUTSTANDING football with the exception of a few broken coverages from a patchwork secondary. It's just as Bud said, the media hyped this defense. He said we had a "chance to be good." The front 7 performed well in containing Legeaux, and I think they keep up that fire and aggression throughout the season. We'll need it against FSU and Clemson.
So, let's get our shit straight and take the rest of the season one game at a time, just as our team should. Let's kill the Tar Heels at Keenan. We own it anyway. They're 0-4 at home against us. Let's make it 0-5.

Hughes has done a helluva job. I can only think of one punt he's had so far that wasn't an absolute boomer. Somebody put that kid on scholarship.
Like French says, the 2nd half of Cincy shows this offense can be quite effective when all the cogs are working smoothly.
If anybody knows how to circle the wagons, it's Frank.
Now we start ACC play and the ACC is well. . . y'all know.

I agree there are some positives to work with
If we could just get LT back, our offense would improve by leaps and bounds.
Defensively, the DL is getting it together. I don't think our secondary can continue to be so bad, the talent isn't that poor. We've won games with Billy Hardee back there before. Nick Sorensen played FS for a team in the NC game.
But.....
...it ain't going to happen against UNC. They may have the best OL we face all year. Their passing attack is perfect for the problems we have right now. Their RB is way better than George Winn. Defensively, Sylvester Williams will eat up the middle of our OL. We can't hold them under 30 and we can't score 20. We might be getting better, but it won't be this weekend.
I'm too bitter to look on the bright side. If you want to hear all the positives just watch Beamer's post game interviews, theyre full of em'. We need to fix our inconsistency before we move forward as a football team in my opinion.
And yea Rachel Bilson is very hot, Ted should definitely marry her instead of her roommate.

Apparently I still didn't get to everybody... Some still seem to want to focus on the negatives. I think if we take these positives and build on them, our team won't be great -- heck, maybe not even that good -- but we should be able to pick it up. Starting Saturday.

Yes this isn't what everyone envisioned but this team needs all the support from the fan base they can get I think that is pretty evident. Time to saddle up as a fan base because if the first 5 games were evidence its going to be a bumpy ride
