You just can't make this stuff up.

The cop nodding in agreement is my favorite part.
It baffles me how "roll tide" has become more of their language than them actually supporting the football team.
Q:What do you want for breakfast?
A:Pancakes, roll tide
Q:Paper or plastic?
A:Plastic, roll tide
Statement:I need to take a shit, roll tide. Etc. Etc. and so on
This is so true. I just joined the Alabama National Guard (I live in Atlanta, long story...) anyways, I was talking to some of the other guys I'm training with before BCT and they were wondering how I was a higher rank already. I said that I had my degree, and almost every person that asked me this responded with "roll tide" At first I thought they just assumed that I went to Alabama but the more it happened I began to think it was just a general response. It's quite bizarre.
I salute you for being in the thick of it and surviving.
On a serious note, thank you for your service
Well it's a pleasure, I'm pumped to really get started this summer.
I think I'm going to get bold and just ask a few guys what the "roll tide" crap is all about, I'll report back in a few weeks with my findings no matter how absurd or incoherent the answers may be.
I thought it was just a way of life there. You were either Auburn or Alabama and that is all there is to it?
Well that's true but it's somehow morphed into something more than that and that's what I want to know. Why is it just a general statement now and what does it mean?
Um because it's Alabama...and it means that for him Alabama football is everything would be my guess. I think if I were to analyze it, questioning it is spending too much time thinking about it. I think just accept he's saying he's an Alabama fan and roll with it.
It has to do with the last half decade's SEC circle jerk and then Bama's rise to prominence. I think always since forever the following behind Bama and Auburn was so great because it wasn't just students that got into it, but regular folk because of no major professional sports teams there. College football is infectious and borderline obsessive at the same time. Combine those two and successful teams and you get what "Roll Tide" morphed into. Everyone has the enthusiasm as the actual students.
You've got to love the perky blonde reporter - 'So, why'd you do that?' Just what you need when you're headed to jail in your pajama bottoms. Roll Tide, indeed.
At least his answer to that question was appropriate.
I imagine a scene with the lawyers seeing the tape and just throwing papers up in the air like, okay, what can we plea to?
I would hope his judge would convict him and say "War Eagle"
and his reply: Up yours, Roll damn Tide
Bama fans are the gift that keeps on giving
Roll Tide, indeed

No, its like when that time of the month hits
Bottles of Tide Detergent rolling is better because it makes them look comical. Yours makes them seem kind of scary.
I just find it humorous that Alabama's mascot is a euphemism for menstrual flow
Gross. Funny yes. But still gross.
Oh joy. Something to look forward to in the upcoming months. I really hope I get off the waitlist in NJ.
This was spectacular. That guy is awesome.
I heard about this on the news (I live in Alabama) but surprisingly the "I'm innocent, roll tide" part didn't get much attention on the news. I guess in Alabama it's just such a natural part of the conversation to say roll tide that it doesn't get any special notice.
I'm still waiting for the news anchors to end every show with "Roll tide"
I was expecting the older lady to add a "roll tide" at the end of her sentence. That would have been funny. You know, like, for sure.
I believe it is just a way to say you are on the bandwagon.
