In the Personal section of your user profile (link next to the TKP logo in the top bar) you'll find a surprise. I've been working on a lot of website updates, most behind the scenes for now, but some will become more transparent as August practice approaches. We're gearing up for a successful 2014.

That's awesome. I feel like we need to start giving your family turkey legs for letting you put in the hours to keep this place the best.
AW YEAH TEAM PIE YEAH
Ice Cream Cookie Cake... Its cookie, its ice cream... its a pie, and its cake... all at once...
so if you click on (in my case) "pie" on your profile, it shows other people who are Team Pie.
I would be more then happy to be the ambassador of Team Cookie, if no one has already called it
As long as you agree that homemade chocolate chip cookies or peanut butter oreos are the greatest cookies ever, you have my support.
#COOKIEMONSTERWASFRAMED
Personally, I'm still holding out until there's an option for Team Spillyfood
No.
just looking at that made me gag. ugh.
What about #TeamEpicMealTime?
A homemade chocolate chip cookie hot out of the oven is definitely one of our front runners. The cookie is the under dog here but holds several advantages in my opinion over the rest (here are a few):
-most mobile of the desserts
-more quantity for less value
-awesome with milk
-loved by monsters
-able to eat in cereal form (ala Cookie Crisp)
-can be used in cakes, pies, and ice cream for the sole purpose of making them better
Good reasoning. See my reasoning for cookie-dominance here.
you just managed to get 2 legs from me for essentially one post...
Don't forget you can eat them on the sidelines without getting your hands too sticky.
What is wrong with sticky fingers?
Ask the crab legs in the Tallahassee Publix...

just don't tell me that the sugar cookie is your favorite, and i think we can get along just fine!
Jim Weaver says GTFO with your damn sugar cookies
(please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers listening to that infamous Hokie Hotline call)
I'll join in. #TeamCookie
#TeamCOOKIE all day, every day.
I don't understand how anyone can be anything other than #TeamCookie. Loki is #TeamCookie.
I didn't just switch sides from team cookie. I just switched sides to team Loki.
I... might have to defect to #TeamCookie now...
#TeamIceCream

I could eat it for every meal.
Eat the pig, eat the pig...
Ziggy Piggy, Ziggy Piggy.
YES! BONUS POINTS FOR BILL AND TED! I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU A MILLION LEGS!
i believe there would be cookie dough in that ice cream...(at least there would be if it were any good)
edit: and i forgot to mention crumbled oreos
#TeamCookie
Correction: I have eaten it for every meal, for at least one day of my life, but more than I can remember, really.
Team Ice Cream. I will also accept frozen yogurt.
#TeamPie is killing it.
#TeamCake, #TeamCookies and #TeamIceCream have to step up their game.
Quality, not quantity
Team CAKE!!! NOW WHAT!!!
So here at work we have a product with an equation editor and one of my coworkers just complained that we have the constant e represented but not pi. So she's #TeamPi as well, which I consider close enough.
She has a point- why would you not have pi?
Not having pi? That's irrational!
team salty snacks? anyone? anyone?
#COOKIELOVE
#TEAMCAKE, YOU BUSTAS!
Sorry for the derogatory word usage.. wasn't mine but had to use.
The look of a pie,
So tender and juicy.
The look of a pie,
Just makes me and 45 other TKP'ers go loopy!
The smell of a pie,
So delectably nice.
The smell of a pie,
Much better than rice.....or UVA
I can see it starting...
Being allergic to dairy pretty much my whole life, when it comes to desserts, I'll take whatever I can get (which is very limited).
Are you saying you want to start #TeamJelloJigglers?
If I were you I would use this to my advantage with my wife. well not you with my wife.. ohh boy (walks out)
Instead of #choppinwood we could have #bakingcookies or #bakingpie or #scoopinicecream to announce a commitment
#bakingcookies' got that chest hair growing ring to it...
#crushingcookies
- or -
#cookiemonstering
#teamcake4lyfe
In the immortal words of Eric Cartman...
All in with #teamcookie4thewin.
So I had a really tough time deciding...I'm really team #allthedesserts but I went with pie..cuz if I'm presented with a table of desserts, I'm going for the pie first.
I had a tough time deciding, too, but ultimately decided to go with #TeamCake. Because if I'm making dessert, I'm baking a damn cake. If I'm just eating dessert, well, whatever's convenient.
And also, Red Velvet Cake (with real cream cheese frosting) > all.
Team cookie is the lunch pail dessert. Here are my reasons:
Agreed.
And I just ate a cookie.

I need to do this much more in my life. Especially after having cookies.
I was on the fence about it, but you've swayed me. I'm officially #TeamCookie. #TeamPie needs to learn it's all about getting to the Independents
I'm officially #TeamCookie with #TeamCake tendencies. Vote4Cookies.
What does #teamcake, #teampie, #teamcookie, and #teamicecream have in common?
They're all better with #teampeanutbutter!
Exhibit A:
http://www.lifeloveandsugar.com/2013/05/28/snickers-peanut-butter-browni...
I would cheat on #TeamIceCream for that one.
I have something to admit...in the beginning when it was simply Cake vs. Pie I was a hard line #TeamCake member. However with the emergence of the independent desserts and if I'm really being honest with myself, I'm #TeamBakedGoods. There isn't a cookie or brownie that I've met that I wouldn't demolish before even sniffing the pie or cake.
It feels good to get that off my chest.
Welcome to the dark side, plus one for taking the leap.
#TeamCake has lost some allies.
If there was ever a war I'd team up with #TeamCake against the #TeamPie anarchists.
We already have a Jolly Roger:
If its war you want, then its war you shall have
Just remember who 'Murica fights for!
we all know that any dessert based assault will be won by pies.
If I only had a dollar for every time I heard some one say, "That's as American as an ice cream cone with a flag in it."
Don't mess with Uncle Sam!
Even George Washington preferred Ice Cream!

You know who liked pie?
I initially aligned with #TeamCake, but at Christmas time, my wife made a bourbon-chocolate-pecan pie that was perhaps the greatest dessert I have ever eaten, and it made me realize how much I love pie. In reality, I'm probably #TeamAllDesserts, but given the option, pie comes first.
Bourbon chocolate pecan pie is absolutely amazing. And when it comes to pie, you can't deny it's versatility. Can you make a tasty lamb and mint cake? I don't think so. But, lamb and mint pie - I'll eat that for dinner any day of the week.
Where would one find said lamb and mint pie? Could we maybe arrange a time and place for a drop off? Straight cash and no one has to know about it.
Sadly I had it at an amazing market in London. I will work on making one though and maybe some day we can work out an "agreement."
I hope so. Let me know when you have mastered the recipe.
Can I get a #TeamBaklava?
Only if I can get #TeamCannoli
i motion to have all hand held desserts other than cupcakes categorized as cookies. we need some unity!
i'm looking at you #TeamCannoli and #TeamBaklava...
#TeamCookie
I am absolutely on board with this idea. #TeamHandDesserts?
#TeamHandDesserts sounds like an excellent compromise to me. Motion to vote?
So how then would you categorize a handheld fruit pie? We are going to need a Venn Diagram.
we talking tastykake/hostess or the little bite sized ones? i'll claim all things bite sized as #teamcookie, anything larger can stay with #teampie...
I was refering to the Hostess/McDonald's/Tastykake ones as well as home-made versions like popovers and stuff like that. I would think those would still be #TeamPie. If we start consolodating things, there is going to be some overlap. Most cookies aren't bite-sized either. I am definitely over-thinking this.
if you can take a bite, and then the insides spill out, it's #teampie. if you can eat it in one bite and/or take a bite without spilling, it's #teamcookie...
I can agree with these stipulations.
Is there a separate #Team Pastry which would encompass baklava, danish, etc. or do they just stay under #TeamHandheldDesserts?
#TeamCookie rolls off the tongue better, but if there is consensus, i can bow down to #TeamHandheldeserts...my head is starting to hurt.
maybe it should be #TeamPie, #TeamCake, #TeamOther
Edit: Adding #TeamYesPlease
What is this then? It's a cake which has insides that spill out.
that, my friend, is something designed just to piss off the TKP community!
or delight us
So, you are saying my wife is pie?
Trying to figure out WHICH exact post you were responding to and getting very confused/concerned...
"if you can take a bite, and then the insides spill out, it's #teampie."
That is a pie. And those hostess products are mostly cakes.
Hence the mostly. A hostess hand pie is most defnitely a pie.
Can you eat a cannoli with your hand? The delicious crusty shell crumbles at first bite (or fork stab).
i've always eaten them by hand (how did someone discover a fork would break a cannoli? do they eat pizza with a fork, too?)
I don't understand how your cannoli doesn't crumble. If fresh, the cannoli crust should shatter with the first bite and the cheese would spill all over you. Fork isn't by choice, it's by necessity.
maybe i'm just a pig and shove the whole thing in my mouth in 2 bites...or i just deal with the mess if it's a larger cannoli. it's one of my favorite deserts and i've been eating them all my life, but i've never thought, "there must be a better way"...
That's true, the small cannoli typically found in bakeries is definitely hand-held capable. I was thinking the larger served with chocolate drizzle on a plate in the finer Italian restaurants.
I tried to start a #TeamCheese desert back in the day. Ricotta, Marscapone, Cream, Goat. All are delicious. Cheese is awesome:

i'm nominating myself as the founding member of #TeamYesPlease...i like all deserts and don't want to fight over which kid is my favorite any more!
What was this thread about again?
I'm probably team cake, because I associate pie with losing on children's game shows:
If we move away from desserts to main courses, then Cottage Pie is delicious!
I am seriously disappointed in everyone. Not ONE mention of #teamdoughnuts
#TeamCarolLee
... What's wrong with us?
I think we need to have a separate breakfast pastry discussion. That is an entire constellation of deliciousness unto itself. Let's keep it to desserts, people.
TheFifthFuller, who I shall from here on refer to as "Vince Jr," we normally agree on basically everything, but here I must disagree. The Donut is a baked good that transcends breakfast. It is an incredible item which is acceptable to eat any time of day for a multitude of reasons. Just ate lunch? Have a donut for dessert. 3 o'clock? Have a donut for a snack. 12 am? Have a shame donut.
Vince Jr, I think it is safe to say that if the donut wishes to swing for the fences, then swing for the fences I shall let him. I have been one of the most vocal members of the #TeamCookie, and a #TeamCookie party leader I am likely to remain due to the hard working nature of the cookie, but I think, Vince Jr, that we would be remiss if we did not consider some of the advantages of donuts:
Hear, hear! I literally just finished one five minutes ago.
And donut forget, you can catch one on the barrel of your rifle as you ride your pony past quickly to deliver the mail.
I thought donuts were usually fried (realize that there are also some delicious baked varieties, but we all know that the fried ones are better).
I am a firm believer that #teamcookie should unite with #teampie more often....as in oreo cookie crust, or cookie crumble topping on chocolate cream pie.
We can end this madness.
