Virginia Tech targets were competing today at the Nike Football Training Camp (NFTC) in Columbus, Ohio (Ohio State). Even though no one from this website was in attendance, thanks to to magic of the Internet we have updates.
Mark Trible spoke to Hopewell's Darrell Taylor at the beginning of April, and since then his recruiting has exploded. In that article, Hopewell Coach Ricky Irby clued us in on Taylor being an athletic freak. Taylor's now a 4-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite. Early in the process he was thought to be a Hokie lean in part because his cousin Tabyus Taylor signed with Tech in 2014. As of right now, his top five schools are: Florida, Miami, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Virginia Tech. He's set to decide this summer. Bud Elliott of SBNation.com posted an excellent interview from today.
And yes, here's Taylor working 4-star Penn State commit Sterling Jenkins.
Darius Fullwood, who I will publish an article on / interview with later this week, also spoke with SBNation.com about his recruitment.
His spin move should be outlawed in one-on-ones.
Defensive tackle, and Virginia Tech verbal commitment, Eric Whitehead was also in attendance. Barton Simmons of 247Sports captured a Vine of Whitehead working in a drill.

Taylor's list is in no particular order, correct?
looks like we got a steal in eric whithead!

Whitehead might be in line to be the next #MANBEARPIG...
Trying to pull somebody from Columbus Ohio away from anOSU is going to tough.
Yeah, I'm not sure we have the tattoo artists to keep up with the demand and our secondary apparel market is not as robust.
Why is OSU going after so many Hokie targets? Is Urban Meyer the next Nick Saban?
Sadly, I think Nick Saban is a paragon of virtue next to Urban Cryer.
I feel very good about landing Darrell. He said he wants a place where he can feel like he has a family, and he pointed out that he feels that way at VT. I want this guy, he looks explosive!
I saw him at the spring game. Thought he was a WR recruit from looking at him, but he's definitely athletic.
