SB Nation Preview of Ohio State

SB Nation's Bill Connelly has been writing previews for every FBS team and he just finished his Ohio State preview. Of course there's the mantra of "one game at a time" and there's less than 88 days until the season starts against William and Mary but I assume a lot of folks are excited about traveling to Columbus.

Virginia Tech will offer a significant test of the Buckeyes' offensive youth, but the game's in Columbus, and the Hokies probably won't be able to do much damage to Ohio State's shakier defensive units. Win that one, and the Buckeyes will be spending most of the rest of the season in or near the top five of the polls.

Think it's a very interesting preview and that VT's defense could give OSU's OL a lot of problems. Who would think that VT's starting OL would have more experience and more former 4 star players than OSU's OL? Think that OSU's DL will be a huge challenge for VT's OL but the secondary for the Buckeyes could be a weak spot along with their team missing their most productive linebacker from last year.

Anyways I can say with a high level of confidence that 2014 tOSU isn't as good as 2013 Alabama was. Hope that Navy hit's the Buckeyes defense with a physical cut-blocking game the week before they play VT.

Ohio State better hope that Brewer isn't as good as a lot of people think he may be.

That settles it... Time to beat the Buck out of Ohio State

After having spend the last several months drilling over every detail about Hokie football and ignoring whats been going on around the country for our opponents, this article has got me super duper excited. We may have actually have more of a chance than what people expect come September...

A VT win over Ohio State in Columbus would be a nice early charismas gift. Anything can happen!

I think it would be more than that, a top 10 OOC win ON THE ROAD would rank as one of the biggest wins in program history.

The Dude Abides

It's hard to think of a bigger win recently. Ohio State will definitely be ranked top 10 and possibly top 5 when VT plays them. The are ranked 7th in the post spring way too early ESPN college football rankings.

In the past 10 seasons VT has only beaten 1 OOC Top 10 team and that was #6 WVU in 2004. Last time VT has beaten a top 10 team at all was against #9 Miami in 2009 and the last time VT beat a top 10 team on the road was against #9 Miami in 2004.

Last time VT beat a top 5 team was my favorite game of all time against #2 Miami in 2003.

The last and only time that a VT team has beaten a top 10 OOC team on the road is against #9 West Virginia in 1989.

confidence that 2014 tOSU isn't as good

Brewer is exactly what Lefty wants right now.

Lo the day, it is coming.... sorry sports writers.

It will become apparent, once again, that you write because you can not play.....or coach....or coordinate...or do anything but make sh1t up.

Fortune Favors the Bold

While we all look forward to the game in Columbus, you know that no matter if we beat OSU by one point on a last second FG or if we win by 20, the story line will not be "Virginia Tech beats Ohio State" or "Hokies dominate", it will be "Ohio State looks to have a down year" or "Ohio State loses". It will automatically become a rebuilding year at the horseshoe. The media template is predictable.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

Well said , my Hokie bro!

Yeah, the media, and how they will react to our win...............
