Corey Marshall: a team player and defensive weapon

In his recent interview with ESPN, spring defensive MVP, Corey Marshall describes himself as a defensive weapon. Corey sounds like he is in a good place right now. He is a team player who is willing to allow coach Wiles and coach Foster to take advantage of his talent wherever they see fit. He is up to 255 pounds and is hoping to get to 270 when season starts. With Luther Maddy, Dadi Nicolas, Corey Marshall, Ken Ekanem , and the best secondary in the nation, the Hokie defense could be really special this year.

Answer.............

an Offense...

jhnbrynt I bestow upon you a turkey leg.

And though, I may not give any more than that one leg, I call upon the entire community to recognize, not only the simplicity, but the all-encompassing totality of your comment.

Leg this man.

Now because he speaks truth.

But leg him also, so you can say, I legged him back on June, 6 months before the legendary breakout season.

YOU!!!

The O-line has got to improve so the run game can get better.

a power running game helped overcome a bad OL in the past, and I have absolutely no doubts it'll help now.

With that said, if we ever get our offensive line playing even competently, we'll be back to an elite team with the defenses we always have. The OL doesn't even have to dominate defensive lines, if they are able to keep our QB off his butt for longer than 4 or 5 seconds on average per play over the course of the season, and they can effectively open up holes for our running game, we're going to win A LOT of games.

After settling on a QB, the receivers have to catch the balls.

Love the Sam Cassell ball-jog. NBA should get a sense of humor and allow this.

With offseason conditioning program, both Marshall and Dadi should be able to add 15-20 pounds of good weight and become disruptive to ACC teams this season.

While I would agree and say the the offense needs to step up, I think to be truly Elite we need to see what we are going to get out of the linebacker corp this year. We are losing a fair amount of experience and with the D-line and absolutely ideal defensive back group, the question marks for me are in the middle.

That and we need to improve from 100+ ranking in rushing to at least in the top 50 to be back.

And beat Duke.
