The following two tweets are from Adam Friedman of Rivals.com.
#UGA #Vols #OhioState #VT #FSU are the top schools for 5 star DE Josh Sweat @rivalsmike— Adam Friedman (@RivalsFriedman) June 5, 2014
5 star DE Josh Sweat will visit #OhioState on July 25 @MarcGivlerBG— Adam Friedman (@RivalsFriedman) June 5, 2014
The July 25th visit to tOSU is for "Friday Night Lights".
Michael Clark of Scout.com reported the details of Sweat's other visits ($) http://recruiting.scout.com/story/1404913-mid-atlantic-notebook?s=73.
Josh Sweat will have a busy summer. The 2015 Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith defensive end will visit Tennessee on June 19, Georgia on June 20 and Florida State on July 18. Other possibilities include Duke, North Carolina and North Carolina State in mid-June
Recruit 757 publish a good feature on Sweat a couple of weeks ago: http://www.recruit757.com/josh-sweat-holds-astounding-offer-total/.
According to the 247Sports Composite (an average of industry rankings), Sweat is the top player in Virginia, and the No. 2 prospect in the country. As of late, Tech hasn't had success landing blue chip prospects, especially the ones in their own backyard. However, as of right now, they are in the race for Sweat's services. That's obviously a good thing.

Comments
Like it said in the Recruit 757 article VT is his only Official Visit scheduled so far, but that should probably change after the summer.
Going up against FSU makes me nervous
The other schools on his list are not cupcakes either in terms of recruiting battles
Any idea when Sweat makes a decision? Is this going to signing day?
before signing day because I believe he is trying to enroll early
Anyone else find that interesting? I thought London automatically offered kids after we did.
Rumor has it London is not in good standing with Oscar Smith after what happened with Phillip Sims at UVa.
Gotcha; that makes more sense. Still seems odd to not even offer and try to rebuild the relationship, but #LOLUVA.
Wait, you mean that he's not in good standing with a school in the 757. Don't they know that he's a cop?!?!?!
We weren't in good standing with Smith after Boone. Morgan is as temperamental as you'll get.
I don't mean to pull the #sources card, but I am a graduate of OFS ('07) and played for Morgan for four years. Sims was/is not there mentally and you could see it coming from a mile away. I am very relieved VT did not land him while we were in the midst of O'Cainespring.
The kids that come out of there now tend to have all of the ability in the world, however, the sense of entitlement that is rampant in the program does the guys a huge disservice once they get into college and face any type of depth chart adversity.
Just my two cents. Take it with a grain of salt.
Andrew Brown went to Smith.
And?
So obviously not in that bad of a position with them.
He was going to UVA no matter what high school he went to. Morgan had zero say in that.
Something about horses... thorough breads?
London's relationship with Oscar Smith was not nearly as important as his relationship with the Thoroughbreds in landing Andrew Brown. The question to ask is, "Is Josh Sweat affiliated with the Thoroughbreds?", but since UVa is not even in his final choices, any potential Thoroughbred connections may not be as influential to Sweat as they were to Brown.
He is thankfully not a thoroughbred
Can somebody please explain who "The Thoroughbreds" are? I've seen this a lot on here over the past year in terms of recruits and lolUVA but still have no idea what/who they are.
It's a 7v7 team whose coaches and parents are notably anti-VT and very vocal about their hate. I believe it started with Corwin Cutler's father just going ballistic over his kid never getting an offer from VT and snowballed from there. And when I say vocal I mean they've gone Twitter following a 'Bred getting a VT offer just to simply say "F*** VT".
Whatever decision he makes on signing day, I REALLY LIKE JOSH SWEAT DEMEANOR.
I hope we make his top 1, let me know when that happens.
We will get this kid and he will have a great career.
With the current trend of "let downs" that we've had, I'm no longer taking any stock in making a highly touted recruits top 'whatever.' Not trying to be a negative nancy here, but it just sucks to have various sources/sites repeatedly make the "he's looking like a heavy VT lean" statement, just to get the rug pulled out from under us at the very last minute. Then having to see all the debate about why we're not recruiting like the top tiered programs.. and how we need to start keeping our in-state recruits.
I hope this kid comes to VT, obviously, and lets Bud mold him into an absolute monster. ...but...you know...
I want to make it clear, he's not a heavy VT lean (I don't think I implied that), and he's keeping his recruitment close to his vest. All we know right now is Tech is one of five schools he's considering, and he's planning to visit the Hokies officially during the fall.
Oh no, I understood that, Joe. I was just kind of throwing that in from the way things have gone in the past. My heart can only take so much, guess I was just venting/ranting in a way.
Collective mindset of Hokies fans in terms of Josh Sweat:
Yea, every time a guy gets this "VT Lean" moniker, the SEC comes raining down to try and keep them away - and it seems to work, unfortunately.
I hope we get this kid. This is the type of recruit that we HAVE to start getting.
