Gennaro DiNapoli arrested on drug charges

Sometimes, you like to hear blast-from-the-past names to bring back happy memories of Tech teams from the past. This is not one of those times.

DiNapoli, an offensive lineman who was drafted by the Raiders in the 4th round in 1998, was busted selling Oxycodone to undercover DEA agents in April and May. He carved out a nice little career that included some starting time at C and G for the Raiders, Titans and Cowboys from 1998-2004.

Let this be a reminder to you, kids:

I might be in the minority here... but why are we posting things about drug busts from former players?? All this is doing is bringing up bad/negative thoughts when we should be focusing on the new year/new QB and all the recruiting news.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion here. I don't like the fact that he's in the news for this, but I do believe it's a newsworthy topic for a VT community.

Meh it's newsworthy

I just sit on my couch and b*tch. - HokieChemE2016

It's the off season. There's not a whole lot going on for the current team so we occupy ourselves somehow.

I like knowing info about all VT players after they leave, good or bad.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Not to be an ass, but you didn't seem to have any problem with the thread about a UNC signee getting arrested (as evidenced by your comments which were discussing the news, not of the "why is this here?" nature)

So if that's newsworthy, I would think a similar story about a former VT player would be too, right?

Not trying to pick a fight, just making a general point.

Yeah I get your point but for me there is a huge difference. One is current player/school that is obviously losing control of its athletics and has yet to be properly dealt with by the NCAA. The other post is about an older player who graduated in 1998 and got arrested. Its both news but I guess one seems more relevant to College Football today with the reoccurring problems at UNC.

But +1 for paying attention to multiple threads. ! <--- not Sarcastica

I've never even heard of him. Does he count as a hokie or a cowboy? Cowboy ruined him.

Yup. Cowboys are bad, mmmkay?

+1, but its been kinda weird giving a horse turkey legs.
Wouldn't you prefer a nice carrot or lump of sugar instead?

I'm cutting down on the sugar nowadays. Sure, for a treat, a sugar cube is great, but long-term health effects worry me, especially when you've been fed 9400 of them. Carrots, apples, and my favorite, bushel-sized buskets of oats. But beggars can't be choosers, I suppose.

What's a busket?

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Kinda like a basket, kinda like a bucket, about the size of a bushel
