I know the question wasnt aimed at me but I believe it is Daniel Crandall. He is an injury lawyer for SW VA. I remember he always had commercials running when I was in school at Tech

Yeah, I made this more difficult than it needed to be. I believe Petebuddy's avatar is Daniel Crandell. I was just referencing that I was answering on his behalf.

Haha I'm not sure what you don't get...it is indeed Daniel L Crandall. He is an NRV icon known for his local TV ads, and his glorious beard. He's kind of a big deal.

Haha I'm actually back in the States now, it was only a four month gig. On the whole, I enjoyed my stay there, though. Just about everyone I met was very friendly. I guess when they aren't in combat situations, they aren't so bad.

Would love for the Eagles to get him, but not sure exactly where he would play. His size makes him more of an ideal slot CB fit, and they already have Boykin (who is a bit younger and considerably cheaper)
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
well he's played a lot in 3-4 defense so that would work well. he's better than at least one of the two starting CBs the Eagles have. I can't speak to cap room, mine's just more of a pipe dream but I think he'd be a great fit. May he could play a little SS to ensure that Nate Allen never sees the field again.

I'm a reader of the Eagles SBNation blog Bleeding Green Nation, and the consensus there is that picking him up on a short term deal would be justifiable, but that we're probably already set at CB for the coming year.
Meanwhile, the consensus in my head is HE'S A HOKIE SIGN HIM

If the NFC North winds up with both Fullers, Flowers, Exum, and Boykin they will overtake the NFC East as best Hokie division. Is James Anderson still with the Bears? If so, even better.

CBS Sports has reported that Flowers agreed to terms with the Chargers. It's a 1 year deal.
edit: I guess now he gets to cover Eddie Royal in practice.

The panel finds that to be a gray area. In the end, they decided that when cheering a putt from the green, it's generally ok to use the "Stick It In" chant for the LPGA.
So long as you aren't this guy.

Yeah, but the stupidity of 'fan' screams seems to stick around like gum on a shoe. I think 'YouDaMan' has actually subsided. the 'GetInThaHole' on tee shots still has not. Insert 'Mashed Potatoes' or 'Bababooie' or whatever other inane catchphrase you wish... You have to wonder if these guys Tivo themselves just to hear if they were caught on film, then repeatedly replay it for their friends as a badge of honor.

As a resident of San Diego, these are what I suggest you do on your trip in addition to Chargers Camp:
1. SD Zoo or Safari Park
2. Surf Lessons
3. Breweries - specifically Ballast Point and Green Flash. I think they have the best beer and the best small batch-experimental beers.

Green Flash has some very good IPA's. Also a great collaboration brewery -- they will work with a lot of other small batch breweries a'la Terrapin for some excellent stuff.
Highly reccomend (and I'm not an IPA fan).

I've actually been in SD for a few weeks now. I'm here for an internship and will be here till the end of summer.
I've already been to the zoo, padres game, Angeles game, and the stone brewing co. in Escondido so I've been exploring. But I'll definitely check out the places you listed.

Nice. Welcome to perfect weather 360 days of the year. If you don't mind me asking, where's your internship at?
I'm not a big fan of Stone (the beer is overrated in my opinion), but their local and beer garden is really sweet. For IPA, I think Sculpin from Ballast Point is the best. If you're into sours, Green Flash had a Saison Tart that was really good. Not sure if that's still on tap. Regardless, get to both breweries and try flights of all their different beers.

I'm an intern at Harrah's Resort Southern California. It's in Valley Center, CA on the Rincon tribe property. If you're a SD resident I'm sure you have an idea where it is.
Yea, Stone had a cool garden but the beer didn't blow me away. I just went with a coworker one day since it's pretty close to the casino.
I'll make sure to hit those ones you mentioned before I head back to Blacksburg!

haha not gonna lie it's pretty cool. We have great pool parties on the weekend, host a lot of concerts and comedy shows, MMA fights, and of course the actual casino part. We have the only swim up bar at a hotel in the whole state of California too which is slightly surprising to me but is true.
Since you seem to be big on alcohol, (who isn't) we also host a bunch of events that involve that.
We just had our Beer and Sake festival which was really cool. It's once a year so you'll have to wait until next year.
But the one that I think will really interest you is our "Hop heads and dreads beer festival" that's not the official name yet but I think we're going with that. There's going to be like 50 or more beer breweries in attendance and some reggae music, hence the hop heads and dreads title. I'm not exactly sure on the date but I think it's within the next 3 months or so.
I really don't want to sound like I'm on here promoting the company or whatever because at the end of the day I'm just an intern and I might not even land a job here in the future, but just more of a FYI for you. If you're living in the area, no harm in knowing about some of the cool stuff that goes on at Harrah's. If you like the page on facebook or follow on twitter you'll get updates on events that go on.

Great nickname. I can't go to teppanyaki without having ridiculous amounts of sake bombs. By the time the fire show starts I can barely sit in my chair

He won't be on the market long at all.
You have to think he is purely a salary cap casualty. He also doesnt fit their scheme apparently.
This decision clearly has nothing to do with football. A player wth his skillset won't last long on the market.
I think the Giants could use another Hokie CB. Wish it would happen.
And with that being said... I would love nothing more than the Panthers to get this guy. His big hits complimenting that front 7? Goodnight, sir!
Our defense would be beyond amazing.
He's coming out of his cage, and he'll be doing just fine. He's Mr. Brightside.
What you did there, I see it
Hey there's something I've always wanted to know...is your avi a pic of Jonathan Frakes???
I know the question wasnt aimed at me but I believe it is Daniel Crandall. He is an injury lawyer for SW VA. I remember he always had commercials running when I was in school at Tech
He comes to YOU!
... and talks with his hands.

It was for petebuddy. Wait, I don't get it.

Ok because for the longest time I thought it was a Jonathan Frakes/STNG thing.
i always thought it was a professor at tech that was popular or something.
and now we know. . . the rest of the story
"Paul Harvey...Good Day."
RIP
He'll help you out if you get hurt and miss work.
Duck'n lawyers.
"Because it hurts to miss work."
And all this time I thought you actually WERE Daniel Crandall. My presuppositions are shattered.
Sometimes he talks about himself in the third person ;)
"he's kind of a big deal"
phucking hilarious.... How are the "cheese eating surrender monkey's" treating you?
Haha I'm actually back in the States now, it was only a four month gig. On the whole, I enjoyed my stay there, though. Just about everyone I met was very friendly. I guess when they aren't in combat situations, they aren't so bad.
The Hokie Brandon Flowers used to retweet all the tweets about the Killers concert that people incorrectly directed at him.
Lmfao! That's hi-larious. Some random chick asking him for tickets to the concert and he be like "ok."
Wait wait wait- they let their All-Pro Pro Bowl corner go!? Smdh
Please, Eagles, please.
Would love for the Eagles to get him, but not sure exactly where he would play. His size makes him more of an ideal slot CB fit, and they already have Boykin (who is a bit younger and considerably cheaper)

Early reports on NFL network are thinking the Falcs.
They're the first team with confirmed interest. He will get a ton more.
Me thinks the Broncos should pick him up and keep him in the AFC West.
please?
I hope the Skins get him cause good god we need a corner
DLo and Brandon Flowers would be worth seeing just because
Don't forget Ryan Clark.
And they'd practice against DeSean Jackson.
E$ECPN reporting Detriot Lions making serious push for him.
Weird. When I saw the report from them, I thought they were going to say he committed to Alabama.
If the NFC North winds up with both Fullers, Flowers, Exum, and Boykin they will overtake the NFC East as best Hokie division. Is James Anderson still with the Bears? If so, even better.
Nope, Anderson is a Patriot now.
CBS Sports has reported that Flowers agreed to terms with the Chargers. It's a 1 year deal.
edit: I guess now he gets to cover Eddie Royal in practice.
Wait a tic-ytf is he so highly disregarded!? I figure he'd be good for at least a 2-3 yr tract. What's their deal??
fuck fuck fucking fuck. That is all.
A Broncos fan.
Anybody been to a nfl training camp? Is it possible to get something autographed at one? ( I understand it's probably different with each team.)
With Royal and Flowers, I might try to make it out to their camp.
I would think if you can catch their eye with some Tech paraphernalia (especially all the way out there) they'll come right on over.
That was going to be my strategy. Haha
Wear vt stuff and yell "any love for a Hokie fan?" Or something like that.
Go with a buddy- Chant:
"Let's Go", "Hokies".
Stick It In.
Pro-Tip: Do not yell this at a women's volleyball match.
What about ladies PGA?
The panel finds that to be a gray area. In the end, they decided that when cheering a putt from the green, it's generally ok to use the "Stick It In" chant for the LPGA.
So long as you aren't this guy.
I would, however, say the 'GET IN THE HOLE' yell after the tee shot is probably frowned upon heavily at LPGA events.
It's pretty much frowned upon at PGA events, too. Happy Gilmore was a long time ago.
Yeah, but the stupidity of 'fan' screams seems to stick around like gum on a shoe. I think 'YouDaMan' has actually subsided. the 'GetInThaHole' on tee shots still has not. Probably.
That being said, it's probably about time for another funny movie about golfing.
Here's the information you need. Charger Camp Info.

This is true. And for all those in the 757, Green Flash is opening up a new brewery in Virginia Beach. The owner and head brewmaster are Navy veterans, hence the San Diego/Virginia Beach connection.
If Lane Stadium does start selling beer, they should work on getting Green Flash in there.
Edit: meant for this to be a response to Chazz!
Thanks for the link!!!

Never been to that resort, but I know where that is. Interning at a Casino, seems way cooler than any internship I ever had.

Awesome gif! Also, no joke Sake bomb is one of my nicknames that people call me. haha

Sweet. I might have to check it out. Thanks.
Time to change the title of this thread.
