This was one of my most complex customs yet. This started as an NFL 23 Drew Brees figure. I used superglue coated teflon tape for sleeves, knee wrap, and tape on the sock. I used a combination of clear and white Papilio waterslide decals for all of the graphics on the figure itself. The custom base is a birch filled shadowbox with a Silflor grass mat to make it look like actual turf and the yardline is white acrylic paint applied with a makeup sponge after masking that strip.
I tried to get this one as close to game equipment as possible. Tyrod didn't wear a wristband on his right arm, the tape on the sock could have been a little thinner, and his towel was actually on his hip that game.
I'm still toying with adding a decal to the base with Tyrod's career stats, I'd appreciate some input on whether you guys think I should add that or leave it nice and clean as-is.
All in all this one took the better part of 18 months (off and on between other projects). I had it almost done at one point and dropped it on the ground while Dullcoating and had to completely restart the torso. I don't have nearly as much time to work on these as I used to with our two boys, but that is a good problem to have!
As always I post my progress pics to my Twitter account so you guys can keep tabs on what I'm up to. Up next - David Wilson (almost complete), Bruce Smith and Marshawn Williams (already in-progress).
Enjoy the pics! Questions and comments welcome...thanks for looking.

Yeah definitely not a fan of this just because the towel is in the wrong spot. /s
Haha but seriously, this is awesome looking! If I wasn't broke I'd get this for my brother as a gift
I frigging love these. And yeah if he's on that stand I think his career stats right there on the front would look good. Up to you though.
Outstanding!
OMG!!! That is awesome!!! Love it!!
Nice work! I agree that I think you should put the stats on the base. I hope one (or both) of your sons takes an interest in this so you can pass it on down.
The detail on the jersey is fantastic
Well done
Seeing these makes me realize just how lacking my artistic skills really are.
tyrod says its dope, its dope. this is just incredible. marshawn already in progress? that is awesome.
I think I nailed the face and will be doing a 2-prong approach on his #predator facemask; I'll be designing a made from scratch version from 19-guage craft wire and I have a buddy that does 3D design and he is going to try to do one for me and I'll use whichever one comes out best. Stuff from Shapeways can come out very rough (texture-wise) so I wanted to make sure I had a backup plan in place in case I cant sand out the rough spots from the 3D print.
I'm going to try to do his dreads with a polymer clay extruder. I'll have to sculpt the neck from scratch so that I could get the positioning just right and sculpt the wrists since he doesn't wear gloves. I had to chop another figures hands off and pin them on here to get the no glove look on here, then I'll do the teflon tape/superglue trick again for his taped wrists.
I like Marshawn a lot. I have bantered back and forth with him on Twitter since he was being recruited and he was always a good sport about it and never failed to retweet or answer me back. He's been really good about getting me different angles of his facemask and tattoos, just a really cool guy. #JuiceMode
Great work man! You are very talented.
Just out of curiousity Ripper do you sell this or do you have a collection. Seems like they could fetch a pretty penny. Fine work. Amazing.
Wow those are nice! You are very gifted at what you do.
Love it.
I Love when I get on the Key play and see youve posted stuff. Tyrod looks badass. Keep posting your stuff, I would like to buy a VT figure if your selling anything.
Tyrod Taylor is a better athlete than Russell Wilson. He was a higher rated recruit than Wilson. I dont get why Tyrod is not starting in the NFL. In the right system , Tyrod can become an NFL winning QB. IMO.
Congrats on the excellent work. The detail is very commendable.
