Bruce used an interesting methodology to come up with his list, check that out in the link above.
His take:
Things begin mellow enough with FCS William & Mary, but then it gets nasty with a trip to Ohio State and then a game against a dangerous East Carolina team with one of the nation's top QBs (Shane Carden) and a very potent offense.
The fourth game is against a WMU team that went 1-11 last year.
To be honest I'm surprised to see Tech make his list. I haven't looked to see if there's a team with a better non-conference schedule, but while Tech will be challenged, I don't expect OSU to be better than last season (a year in which they were a bit overvalued), and ECU is a good team, but not great one, and one with flaws.

Well let's see what Chuck Norris has to say

Wow. Well, those Bucs will get after ya... Tough OOC schedule? See F$U. Credit to them for stepping their game up and playing the folks they do. Reminds me of when ole Bobby was just a (50-something) whippersnapper back in the day, traveling anywhere to play anyone, and typically beating them in the process. he definitely earned his bones doing that, regardless of later stuff. EDIT - Point taken!

Irregardless of your verbiage grogdom, it ain't gonna still me from tossin' it out d'ere.
'Nuff said.
The correct word is two fewer letters to type, one fewer syllable to pronounce. If you're going to butcher the language at least do it to make life easier for yourself
dats wassup
Irrelgardless, (See it fits so nice in so many situations.)
Southerns ain't really concerned with how long it takes them to get a sentence strung together.
It's called conversationalist speachifying.
Here, have a nice glass of cold, sweet iced tea and set a spell. (See what I did there?)
I certainly did not expect to see VT make this list. Good pub.
It's the offseason. Somewhere, somebody has a list that justifies pretty much anything you want to believe about your team. It's the thing to do...
No kidding. There is no way VT's has a Top Ten Nonconference schedule. The overall schedule is pretty soft as well. 9-10 wins is a real possibility. Check out some other 2014 schedules at these sites: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1963882-ranking-college-footballs-25-...

Our D handled Carden last year. He was running for his life the entire game. He's good, but if his O-line can't keep the dogs out, he isn't gonna make a difference alone.
I see Carden with Dadi Nicholas' sweat all over his face come Sept. 13th.
I was thinking that we have one of the weaker OOC schedules as we have a really bad MAC team and a FCS team with East Carolina. But I digress
UVa doesn't count for non-conference anymore, so it can't be THAT bad
I am still amazed that Marty Feldman has a football column and I didn't know that.
It's all in the enunciation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxxSIX3fmmo
