Is Virginia Tech the only program that lights fireworks off at games? I have never seen another school do this. I kinda understand when the game is won but isn't it weird to light fireworks off just for going into overtime (Georgia Tech game this year)?

I'm not sure, I feel like I've seen it elsewhere but I could be mistaking it for seeing it at NFL stadiums... I don't think many college teams do it.
However, I do think that it's weird that we set off fireworks just for going into overtime... I didn't notice that on the broadcast.
I know this doesn't help much...
But UTEP does it too. Their season opener was vs Oklahoma in the Sun Bowl at 8:30 MT, so not quite sunset at the beginning of the game. If you remember, they scored first, so they were setting off fireworks when it wasn't even dark yet!
Maybe just me but
I like the fireworks.
You saw some shootings in Juarez
those werent fireworks.
Oi
Don't be a twat...
Such a good word...twat.
Such a good word..."twat".
when its right its right why wait to till the cold dark night?
unc did fire works in the middle of the day when they scored at the game. they also pumped a ton of artificial noise into the stadium when tech offense was on the field. i feel like there is a ncaa rule about playing noise once the team breaks the huddle but the unc band played and music was playing over the speakers several times when tech was at the line of scrimmage and even after logan snapped the ball. ive never seen a stadium with more artificial noise played throughout the game. does anyone know if there is a ncaa rule about this?
Well if there's one thing we know about UNC, it's that if there's a rule set forth by the NCAA, they'll violate it.
ha very true
Duke, somewhat understandably, does this too. They would play this weird faux-NFL Films intensity music right up to the snap on 3rd downs.
