LSU night game, Jump Around at Wisconsin, yelling at Kyle Field with the 12th, and going to the Big House.... of course I haven't seen any of these, but they are all on my bucket list

UVA/Lane East... err Scott Stadium. The games played there parallel the Ringling Bros. Circus. The clowns are pretty hilarious to watch. And I believe the circus has clowns as well.

If you hit up any of the traditional big program venues, you'll definitely enjoy the experience. Can't really go wrong.
My top 3 so far are Nebraska, Penn State and FSU for very different reasons. Nebraska for the hospitality and tradition. Penn State for the sheer magnitude. Florida State for the scenery and craziness. I'm going to OSU this fall and am curious about how that will be. I've heard mixed results. ND was a disappointment but that could have been because of extenuating circumstances. TD Jeebus was neat in a weird kind of way.

Alabama, Auburn, USCe, and UGA are great stadiums to visit. I've never had a bad time at any of those. Tennessee is pretty cool too and it's always great to see the vols lose.
I really want to go to LSU, Florida, Florida St, Texas A&M, and Texas.

If you're ever in the area you should go to a game at the University of Montana.
The town of Missoula is an awesome place to hang as well. I suggest going to the Missoula Club and try a burger and some Moose Drool while you're there.

Shipping in beer may or may not be legal depending on ABC in various places.
You should be able to go to your local bottle shop and order it that way.
But it depends on whether they have a distributor in the state where you live.
If not. It. Ay not be legal for your store to order it either.

Some good ones I've been to that are off the beaten path (except Oregon):
Boise State smurf turf is a fun experience if your eyes can handle it. Great community of fans in that city.
Oregon is pretty crazy on game day.
Arizona St & San Diego St. has incredible scenery in the stands which makes up for how bad the football experience is.
Colorado was crazy back when they were good, or even decent.
KState is a lot of fun. Passionate fans.
Iowa is an absolute blast. Great environment. Had a great time there.
my worst experience was at Arizona. Fan didn't show up until 2nd Quarter and even then it was barely half full. They never stood up and actually yelled for me to sit down. They weren't drunk and were generally apathetic to what was happening on the field. And they left half way through the 4th.

I live in San Diego, so I went to a TCU-SDSU game about 5 years ago when Andy Dalton was the TCU QB and the team was still in the Mountain West. There were more TCU fans that made the trip than SDSU fans in the stadium. But, all San Diego has sports have an apathetic fan base, so not really anything new.
Not surprised by ASU and Zona. It seems most of the PAC-12 have rather apathetic fanbases, based on the alums I've met. I will try to visit the Coliseum for a USC game this year, and I hope that will be a live atmosphere.

I've mostly been unimpressed with PAC-12 games. I've never been to USC - UCLA but I hear it's actually good. But most places I've been to have not been great game day experiences. Of course, going to VT really is a different world and colors my expectations. I usually found the Mountain West teams were a lot more fun to go to. Boise St, Fresno St, UNR were all great experiences. Had great times there and fans are really passionate.
Oh I should say that I had a really fun time at Oregon St as well. It's in the middle of phucking nowhere but kind of like Bburg in that the whole area is really just about the university.

If you were going to do like 20 different games, I would try to add in one game at a smaller, FCS/DII/DIII school. There are some really cool rivalries out there that don't warrant to coverage the big time schools get but are still incredibly important to their respective student bodies.
I'm sure there are folks out there with specific suggestions for this type of game.
My goal is to use credit card/travel points/status to go to a different "bucketlist" game/site every weekend for an entire season. It will take a lot of planning. Maybe 2015, 2016 is more likely.

Sounds pretty awesome. If that were me, I think I'd still try to do one of the smaller division rivalry games or something like that. Would be a totally different experience.
Also, I'd go to a the UF/UGA game in Jacksonville to experience the "world's largest outdoor cocktail party" or whatever they call it.

i went to harvard v. yale after i graduated from VT. agree that it was important to the students/alumni but to a non-fan it was pretty forgettable and just made me miss Lane. not doubting that there are def exciting small timers out there but i left a bit disappointed given academic rivalry btwn those two schools.

ND was pretty cool for a 8-year old fan. Especially when you consider all the legends that played their and the hardware that school has pulled in during their history. It is just colder than hell for most of the games.
Tennessee and their god awful orange is quite a site, but they are the dumbest fans in football. Still 108,000 fans is nothing to shake a stick at.
I was always thoroughly impressed with our presence at the USC-VT game at Fed Ex, as well as the first Alabama-VT matchup in Atlanta. Both were electric atmospheres and loud.
We sure our lucky we get to watch all our home games in Lane. Not a finer stadium in the land.

Army/Navy is very cool - you have to take in the tradition and the meaning of that game. The football can be kind of boring compared to other high caliber rivalries, but that doesn't matter - being in the same place of our service men and women and cheering for those who sacrifice far more than what most people will ever sacrifice for their country.

I strongly agree. Got the chance to cover it for the newspaper a couple times. It is quite the spectacle with presidents, Parachuting the Game Ball, flyovers and tons more. Quite an enjoyable experience to see it from the field too.

So number one on my bucket list is to see a game in Lane. I saw the Gator Bowl against FSU many years ago, but was never not on confinement or we had to go to the VMI games. That being said, my wife is trying to get us tickets for the UVA game this year as a welcome back from my deployment and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on where to get tickets. She looked on StubHub and the cheapest she saw was for $100 way in the top of the stands. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Tailgating at "The Grove" before an Ole Miss game is a must. One of the coolest experiences I've had at a college football game.

LSU night games are nuts. They do it up right. I was blown away by their tailgating and energy level (sidenote: So was VT's football team)

I saw ND at the Big House a few years ago. Spending a weekend in Ann Arbor should be on your list as well. That stadium is cavernous.
