I read times like that and think, "so what, I ran a 4.42 in high school." Then I remember I did that at at 6-0 145 and that these kids are moving a lot more mass than I ever did. dang

We should take all of these times from The Opening with a grain of salt. David Wilson, one of the fastest VT players in recent history, ran a 4.40 at the NFL Combine. They just clocked some LB at 4.39.
Obviously Sweat is a beast and a must-land type of talent, but I wouldn't put a lot of weight on the actual number. I'd use it more as a metric to measure him against other players' times at this particular testing.

Is Sweat waiting to commit on signing day? Or does he have any timeline? I also read over on tsl that someone tried to put a crimson hat on him there and he pushed it away. Would be awesome to land him.

If VT lands Sweat its a huge narrative changer for VT and the state of recruiting. Of course VT still has a glaring need for an OT in this class but landing Sweat captures national attention from other recruits. If McClease chooses VT on his bday like expected I'll start feeling better about landing Sweat. VT NEEDS to establish a pipeline with Oscar Smith.

Probably will run faster in Maroon and Orange
Hokies are known for posting fast 40 times in Blacksburg
Must be that thin air up in the mountains...
Bud Foster can make him faster.
His speed progressions:

MY BRAINS ARE GOING INTO MY FEET!!!
Doesn't look like he even broke a Sweat.

I couldn't go 40 in 4.42 unless you dropped me out of an airplane.
Oh, no, wait, I'm a horse. I could totally beat all of you in a race.
Except that you're on a treadmill, so you may be going extremely fast, but your total displacement is zero.
And this little horse looks so sad!
Those horse masks are kinda freaky...
I don't know, I think they're pretty amusing

These are pretty dumb and awesome at the same time, can't believe I just bought one now.
I am feeling an overwhelming desire to have one. Can't explain it. Just...need...to wear... a horse head mask...

I ran the 40 in 4.42 hours

These are electronically timed and on grass. These would be pretty accurate I'd imagine, a lot more accurate than VT track hand time forty times
I think it will come down to VT and UGA for Sweat.
I think I'm going to cry regardless of where he ends up. For different reasons, obviously.
Just please don't go back to the James Van Der Beek avatar. I wanted to punch the computer every time I saw it.
Haha! I forgot about that. You have an awesome memory. A turkey leg for you.
That was a dark time, indeed, but I am optimistic it will be happiness this year.
I only remember because it was my Newman

He will be enrolling early
I saw this on ESPN (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/notebook/_/page/Op...) about Sweat and I was a bit shocked. I'd like to think that this is ESPN's bias, but I hope we are trying to recruit him the hardest.
When he names his top 5 in order , I hope its Tech and then 4 others lagging behind.
About a half of a page behind
Sweat came in #1 on Bruce Feldman's 2015 recruiting class "Freaks List." That's pretty good.

If only Andrew Brown chose us....
But I still like our standing with Oscar Smith!
