Darvin's top 8 schools in no order are: Clemson, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Florida State, Maryland, and Alabama. He plans on announcing his decision on his 17th birthday, August 28.

Edit.
I apparently didn't see that highlights were posted. Apologies.
I'd be surprised if he didn't head to FSU, but you never know.
I think if he came to VT it would be because of a great selling job by CJ Reavis at the end.
DT isn't as big a positional need now with 3 DTs coming in now with Mihota being moved and 2 DTs committed for 2015 but it would be huge to beat out FSU for a top in-state player.
2 DTs for 2015? Are you counting Harry Lewis as a DT?
I count Lewis as a DT. They need ENDS ENDS ENDS.
Yup. Harry Lewis was recruited as a DT, not a DE.

There has only been like one Thomas Dale player in the past 20 years to not pick VT. Let's hope Darvin isn't the second.
I believe he means "Let's hope Darvin isn't the second TD guy to not pick Tech." Or "Let's hope Darvin isn't the second TD guy to pick a school other than Tech."
Correct.
Gotcha. Phew, I thought he said he hoped he didn't pick us. That was my fault. Fun is dyslexia
Darvin has lots of friends on the team. He should join his high school teammates in college and continue the tradition. VT could always use great players. Darvin can be great with Bud Foster has his coach.
We can always use another TE.
I love some good TE humor
A quick update, Darvin and his family are planning on visiting Virginia Tech, Tennessee, and Alabama this summer. I'll let you know when dates are finalized and I hope to speak with Darvin and his father after his trips.
Sounds like he's got a Top 3 in mind... Though, going head to head with Bama is gonna be tough.
FSU is number 1 for him, they are the competition assuming he is still a take for them.
For what it's worth, I've asked his dad several times straight up if he has any favorites and the answer has always been no.
Let's make it so it is not tough.
Gonna be tough to beat out the Tide. Would love to have this guy on the d-line.
TD = little VT.
