After getting cut by the Kansas City Chief, Brandon Flowers signed with the San Diego Chargers and claimed that he is the best CB in the NFL and is staying in division to show the Chief how he feels about getting cut.

That's pushing it
You have to have that kind of attitude to be a great corner. He has tremendous hip fluidity, closing speed, and instincts. He's my favorite hokie corner, so I hope he stays healthy and performs at an elite level.
Not the best corner, that is Sherman regardless of your thoughts on him as a person, but Flowers is up there IMO.
Sherman is overrated in my opinion. Their system helped him out a lot. The corner from Arizona was better.
If Patrick Peterson had better mechanics consistently, he would be head and shoulders above the rest. However, he often relies too heavily on his freak athleticism and gets away with it most of the time.
I wish I could give this more than one leg. Telling everyone you are the best does not make it so. When you really are the very best in the league, you feign humility and let everyone else shower you with praise. I am constantly surprised how irrational Sherman can be for someone with a Stanford education that everyone says is so intelligent and savvy off the field, but makes a complete ass of himself on it. Sherman is beginning to rival Lebron as far as one of the biggest divas in all of sports.
The fact is no offensive coordinators are scared to throw at Sherman which is why he had so many INT's last year. When Nnamdi was in his prime no one even thought of throwing to his side of the field. If you take away all of the pressure that the 'Hawks D puts on opposing QB's he would be exposed in REAL coverage. He is NOT a shutdown corner in the league that can take away and shadow a #1 WR like Peterson, Hayden, and Revis do (all IMO, of course).
I am a 49er fan, but "Hustle" Wilson is also one of my favorite players to watch in the NFL...so I am fully capable of setting aside a team/fan bias to see things how they REALLY are.
I suspect Richard Sherman knows exactly what he's doing. He's making himself into a huge diva because that's what gets the ESPN press, etc. That means it's much easier for him to get marketing deals, commercials, and things like that simply because his name is so well known because of how he's acting.
I think he's just doing it for the money.
If I'm not mistaken, I think he was only thrown at once during the AFC Championship game. That ended up as a game-clinching interception.
And according to this, he was the least targeted CB in the NFL last year.
Actually, your opinion seems to be the popular one nowadays. What can you say? He comes up big in big moments. What else can you ask for?
I think that's a relative expression. I don't feel there is a proverbial "Greatest Corner" in the league. However, if I were forced at gunpoint, I would have to say the greatest would be a Fuller.
In his mind he is the best. Hes from the lunch pail defense, he has to be confident in his CB skills.
My how things can change...wasn't it just 2 or 3 yrs ago that Derrelle Revis considered the hands down best corner?
That was when he played more than 3 games a year
Brandon Flowers is the best corner in the NFL. David Wilson is the best running back. Tyrod Taylor is the best QB, and Jarrett Boykin is the best receiver.
Duh.
I can do this all day.
While I agree 100% with the facts stated above. Bruce Smith (SackMaster9000) is the best DE to ever play in the NFL.
So many FACTS. So little time.
Who's the best TE?
Dang Brandon...you sound like Hall and Whitaker with all that yappin'.

The best tight end is definitely Andre Smith. When Jeff King catches on with another team, then I would say it's him.
I believe Andre Smith was released. There's still Logan Thomas...
Aaahhh, you're right about Smith. I didn't know he got released by the Browns. Hopefully he will land somewhere else.
No I think even still King is king of TEs. How many receiving yds and TDs has Smith acquired in the league?
You could say:
The best Tampa 2 corner is ______.
The best Man corner is ______.
The best run support corner is Kyle Fuller.
Or you could go with who the NFL players have picked:http://www.nfl.com/top100/2014#video=0ap2000000363848
I don't agree with any of these guys being in the top 100, except numbers 65 and 86. I'll take a 1 legged, pigeon toed (is that even possible?) brandon flowers over number 76.
Kam Chancellor was a top 20 player last year. Hes the number 1 safety in the NFL.
I love Brandon Flowers, but for me the best cornerback in the NFL is Joe Haden, hands down. There is a reason that fantasy football experts will tell you to sit a WR if he is facing them that week. He is the definition of a shutdown corner.
Did we all forget????

Exum Daycare is coming to an NFL near you!
(But looks like it will be at safety: http://thevikingage.com/2014/07/09/vikings-rookies-will-earn-starting-sp...)
He might want to be a corner after the last two years, but his build is closer to an NFL safety. But what team is going to object to a safety that has corner coverage skills?
Good points, but as a Vikings fan, I want him to get a shot at corner. We desperately need a man corner who can play on an island and be physical. I don't care if he gets some PI's I can live with that. Better than the soft zones we have been playing.
Did Mr. Flowers ask permission from DBlock DHall to claim best corner in the league?
