Tremaine Edmunds Visiting Blacksburg Monday

Little recruiting update for you all-

Tremaine Edmunds, a 3-star LB recruit for 2015 and the brother of Hokies Trey and Terrell, will be in Blacksburg this week.

Just got off the phone with his dad/head coach, Ferrell, and he said he'd be headed up to Tech on Monday.

Edmunds is expected to decide soon, possibly by the end of this month, so this is likely a good sign for Tech.

I'm hoping to speak with Ferrell, and Tremaine himself, more very soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

When Trey first signed with us, Tremaine was thought to be the best of the bunch. Is that still the case?

In my short time here, it seems that you guys mainly rely on 247 for recruiting. He's a 4 star on rivals similar to Trey, and I have also heard that he was supposed to be the best of the bunch.

As a data person, I think the 247Sports Composite is the best ranking out there, because it's an aggregate of the major services. However, take star ratings with a grain of salt, especially defensive players at VT. A lot of lower ranked guys fit specific positions on our defense very well. That isn't to say the five-star players aren't any less important. They are. Andrew Brown would have been a beast at DT for us, and Josh Sweat in Blacksburg is a game changer.

I'm pretty sure Stiney mentioned him in his NOVA Hokie Club talk in the fall, couldn't talk about him by name, but it was very obvious a certain brother was on their radar.
