Great write-up, Andy. Stanford is one of the players I am most looking forward to watching this year. He showed flashes of greatness last season, and under Moorehead's tutelage, I have no doubt he can become an excellent receiver. If Knowles can start to put things together, as you noted, the Stanford-Byrn-Knowles trio could be really great, plus any contributions we might get from some of the highly touted recruits.

And 10' TE contributions

Taylor, looking desperately throws it deep..HAS A MAN OPEN DANNY COALE WITH A CATCH ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FIVE!!!!....hes still open

That would be awesome. I guess I kinda feel that they still won't be on the level of the Boykin-Coale-Davis-Roberts crew.

What a game changing play. Well done, Yoshi (isn't that his rap name?)

Gotta love that block from the Paperboy! (or was that Marcus Davis?)

You do realize you just put blocking and Marcus Davis in the same sentence, right?

I guess I should have put /sarcastica !! Yes, that was the joke.

One of the most relaxing enjoyable games last season. Pretty sure I laughed
a lot too. That hardly EVER happens. I want more of this!!

@AMB4VT

I like Stanford and think he could be a very solid contributor. I also think we didn't look his way enough last year. Hopefully that'll change.

We have some decent WRs. Hopefully one of the young guys steps in and provides more playmaking ability.

Maybe I am being overly optimistic but I feel that with Moorehead with us our WR group will end up being our strength on offense for years to come.

It's not mentioned in the article but I am pretty sure Stanford set VT's freshman receiving records for receptions and yards last year. I'm excited to see what he can do with three more seasons of Moorehead's coaching.

I agree and hope we have 3 more seasons of Moorehead's coaching. Between the coaching and recruiting that he's done it's not going to be long before other programs come sniffing around.

I think we have a couple of years before that happens.
1) We need to have a couple more years of development.
2) We need to have receivers that catch more than 56% of the balls.
3) We need to have a game plan that throws them the ball.

I think it will be sooner than later. Grimes was here for 1 year and while the line was better we weren't amazing by any stretch. I hope he sticks around because if he leaves I'll feel like this:

That being said, the realist in me doubts he will be here for a long career; it's just the business of college football.
