Virginia Tech is hosting its second prospect camp of the summer. Through the magic of social media, these prospects have indicated they'll be in Blacksburg. Put any news and notes on today's camp here.

Business trip to VTech tomorrow — Simeon Gatling (@SimGat_) July 14, 2014

I would love to pull in Cager. He plays at my rival high school but I won't hold that against him. I like that he's a big physical receiver at 6'5". According to 247 crystal ball he is destined for Ohio State, but it looks like he hasn't received an offer yet from them.
I just watched his film and I love that he catches the ball at its highest point. Seemed to be a decent route runner, too.

Wait a minute. Yes. He is indeed talking my language.
Thanks for the list Joe. Also one little correction, McIlwain is 2016, not 2015.
I knew that. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.
A guy with a name like Simeon Gatling just needs to come play for VT.
Apparently McIlwain is our big QB target for 2016. We sit in a good relationship with the parents already.
One of my coworkers sons got invited to this camp. I dont want to give their name, but I'm excited to hear how it goes
You need to encourage this person to register for an account and join the fray here.
I will definitely mention it to them!
'16 QB target Augie DeBiase seems to be having fun. Looks like VT and Indiana have offered him so far. From the same area as Isaiah Ford (not the same HS though).
!!!!!
The Million Dollar Man's son?
any idea what highschool? (guess i could just not be lazy and google it) ill go check him out this season. saw isaiah play a couple times in highschool basketball as well and friends with his cuz. also i know we had vic lopes up for a visit earlier in the year he went to highschool with isaiah at TC and i played basketball and football with his older bro in highschool way back when. he plays LB now but prolly slotted to be a pass rushing DE in college if he can bult up. not sure where else he holds offers or if he holds one from us even just know he was up at VT and also GT and UF from talking to his bro.
He's at Fletcher HS in Neptune Beach.
Mclease will be there which can only be seen as a good sign if he's planning on committing on Wednesday.
Wow. VT must really like this guy to give him TWO offers!
This must be what being "formerly offered" means.
Mook Reynolds has given Michael Brewer the nickname of the 21st century!
VanillaVick...Sounds like Brewer has some wheels...
Those highlights - sigh. Gotta say it (again) - to me, in terms of pure athletic ability, Michael Vick was the greatest college player ever.
Any concerns that Brewer isn't big enough should now be gone. I know it was posted the other day that he was up to 202 lbs. You can tell it.
(Translation: he's become acclimated with VT Dining (and to a lesser extent, Mike Goforth's training))
Henceforth, Michael Brewer shall be known as Vanilla Vick
#AlloftheMustache ?????
drove by the camp saw a lot of orange and maroon on the guys, hope they had a good time today and i hope the mini-monsoon didnt ruin anyones day
JJ Givens, CB / WR, Atlee (Mechanicsville, VA)
Kid is a beast on the highlight film. Would make a good start to the '16 class.
About 5 highlights in and all I can say is: yes please.
Why are we looking at a diagram of Antone Exum?
Sterling Archer well get you a leg every time. +1
I swear I had something for this...
This thread smells like Paul Bunyan just stumbled upon a large grove of sequoia trees. #ChoppinWood
Lawrence Cager earned an offer.
Wonder how many offers he's going to get now that VT has offered?
How long until UVa offers if they have not already done so to follow our lead?
LOLUVA, OSU, BAMA, FSU
these four seem to follow our recruiting offer for offer
As I have been saying, the Hokies have a need for a tall split end receiver. He fits the profile.
Man, how tall is this kid? He's already taking Bucky "the Giant" Hodges lessons.
The way he runs reminds me of Logan Thomas also.
Oh no, does that mean he'll be a QB here /s
I played against Calvert Hall when I was in Middle School - man, that brings back some memories!
Kid has wheels
Wow, my observations from this film:
1. Great 1st step and then an insane burst.
2. Quick release and a very fast ball - defense can't get to the receiver fast enough
3. Can get out of trouble and still has the sense to look for receivers (doesn't always look to run). This shows some good thinking and maturity
4. Some of the longer balls and shorter ones on the run show some nice touch when the play calls for it.
We. Must. Get. This. QB!!
Lefty and Co.: Recruit Like Heck!!
I am assuming that he was at our camp yesterday, how did he like his VT visit? Any news on where we stand with this kid?
Tyrod 2.0
Reminds me of Braxton Miller
My additional observations:
1. Yeah, no kidding. First highlight, around the 50, he just hits another gear and he's gone. Ridiculous.
2. I LOVE how this kid holds the ball when he drops. There are a couple small things he could tweak to release the ball even a little bit quicker, but he puts himself in a great position by dropping back with the ball up by his collar bone.
3. I also LOVE how he steps up hard to avoid pressure, instead of trying to run around the defense and beat them using his athleticism. He always seems to know where he needs to be to keep a blocker between himself and a defender, and whether or not he should take it himself. Like you said, good thinking and maturity.
4. You're exactly right. However, there are a couple times he puts a little too much air under deep balls. He actually does exactly what I do sometimes throwing deep and lets his shoulders "angle up" a little too much, which sends the ball more up than forward. He could probably add some velocity and distance on those deeper throws that don't require as much air by keeping his shoulders a little more level.
5. His arm strength is significantly above average, but not LT3 levels. He has enough on it to get away with being lazy with his feet sometimes, but the times that he does use proper footwork, oh my.... it's beautiful.
6. He does exactly what Logan did when pressured, and throws off his back foot/doesn't fully transfer his weight forward. Again, he's got just enough arm strength to get away with it most of the time, but he's gonna have to learn to step into a few when he knows he's about to get smacked.
Overall, very impressive film. The issues I do see would be issues a whole lot of college QBs would be expected to have/fix. He's an excellent prospect and I really hope Lefty pulls out all the stops here, cause he could be special.

My coworker told me the camp was great. He got his humblebrag on and made sure to let me know that in one of the WR drills his son was the only one to not drop a pass. And this kid is only a rising sophomore...
Oh, and of course I steered them towards TKP
