When I first read the headline, my first thought was "12-1 season with one loss to either anOSU or FSU in the ACC ship", I'll take that for a bounce back year.
Yeah, we've never won 12 games in an entire season. Closest we came was when those PAC 12 refs made a blatantly incorrect call on Danny Ninja Coale.

12-1 is not that bad, really. We've sort of deflated into the great mass of ACC teams that should be good, but it's hard to tell how good. For a while we were above that - while UMd, UNC, Miami, NC State, Clemson, BC, etc. were all in that 7-8 regular season win total range. It will be nice when we return to be comfortably above that.
