Video of Coach Beamer on ESPNU

[@VT_Football]

Thanks to Bill, we have video of Coach Beamer's 5 minute appearance on ESPNU.

Also, HokieSports.com published a nice social recap of Frank's trip to Bristol.

Thanks Joe.
Everything I got on my DVR was either Dabo or Jimbo.

Tweedy can run like a dadgum antelope or whatever. I like to use scalded dog. Do antelopes lumber? Cheetah, OK. He runs like a cheetah. He's fast. - Bud Foster

There was also a segment on SportsCenter, but he basically said the same thing.

Good to know. I had recorded the heck out of espn/espnu but I ended up with this and just as nubinile said above, some Dabo and Jimbo talk.

Hyping up Hokie Nation one video at a time.

I bet Dabo said "uhh" a lot.

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

Don't like how they got his career wins wrong. They just counted his VT record as his career. They're missing about, what, 42 victories?

Jack Bauer fears no one. Except Xavier Adibi.

They could be counting FBS games only. Since Murray State was FCS under Frank, that wouldn't be included. It all depends on how they list the wins. I'd assume that was what they did. EDIT - Ironically, just heard an ESPN radio spot with Ivan Maisel, who introduced Frank as 'the leading active FBS coach with 267 FBS victories'. Obviously, the numbers get jumbled 'to' our favor on occasion, and not just 'against' us. Either way, it's not a big deal.

Maybe, didn't think of it that way, but I also wouldn't like that. If you are a head coach and you won a game it should count towards your overall career record.

Jack Bauer fears no one. Except Xavier Adibi.

It does count towards your overall record, but there's a difference in John Gagliardi winning 471 games at the DIII level and Paterno winning 409 but not counting a bunch of them because of the scandal and Eddie Robinson winning 408 at FCS Grambling and Bear Bryant winning 323 at UMd/UK/aTm/Alabama. I could go on, but that gives you an idea how convoluted it can get.

The Paterno loyalists won't shut up about 409 up here. I got more respect for every other coach you listed.

To be clear - I am as far removed from a Paterno loyalist as is possible. I won't go on a rant about him right now, though. I just used his number because I remembered it and didn't remember Bowden's number before vacated wins. The point with either is that some people count their wins one way, others count it the other way. Bowden had all kinds of different numbers, depending on his Samford wins, etc. Paterno? The less wins he's credited with the better, in my book. Enough on that tangent.

I always thought I saw Frank's name come up for most active wins among FBS coaches with 266 is all.

Jack Bauer fears no one. Except Xavier Adibi.

He has 266 total between Murray St. and VT. It depends on how people count the wins. "Most wins among active FBS coaches" counts all 266, because the criterion is simply being an FBS coach. "Most wins at the FBS level" only counts his wins at VT.

"Exit light..."

Behind the scenes video up on HokieSports.com. I haven't watched it yet...because it's on HokieSports.com and it won't play...

Maybe some of you will have better luck.
