Kendall Fuller - No. 37 on ESPN's Top 100

Figured I'd share, since I haven't seen it posted yet.

Was surprised to not see anyone else from our secondary crack the top 100 (or I missed it), but that's ESPN for ya.

Seems low. Guess they will amend it after the season after an All-ACC and All-American campaign.

Kendal Fuller is absolutely a top 25 player in the nation. Who cares what ESPN says.

Yeah, seems low. I'm actually a little surprised that Kendall didn't intercept it and change it before it went to print.

That's because the Ref announced/flagged Kendall for a targeting penalty against the NCAA and we all know that isn't allowed.

That's just a typo. They meant for 37 to be in their "predicted number of interceptions by each player" list.

Or the jersey number he'll wear as the #1 overall pick after leading us to 3 national championships.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

I want to make a joke about him having to pay Sam Shields for it, but alas, there are no realistic scenarios in which Green Bay will have a high enough draft pick to draft a Fuller.

Not the bagman VT deserves, but the bagman VT needs right now.

Simple. They make a trade with a team that ends up having a horrible season and therefore a top-10 pick. Enter the 3rd Fuller to play in the NFC North.

But I like the way you think, sir. Leg.

On the other hand, Kendall was ranked ahead of Pre-season All-ACC first-teamer PJ Williams so that says something.

I've been keeping up with the lists as they come out and swear I've seen like 14 defensive backs from FSU on that list. Which is partly why I was surprised to not see Facyson or Jarrett on ESPN's list, considering our secondary wasn't THAT for behind FSU's last year. Although winning a MNC never hurts with that perception...

And I agree with all - Fuller would be ranked higher come the end of the season.

Kendall AND Facyson are both top 25 players (Ken a top 10). 37 is just the number pics they're both gonna have between them as they consistently deny other teams pussy TDs.

EDIT: top 25 D players. Both top 10 D players. I'd say both are top 25-35 overall. All the way to the damn bank on it.

top 25 players? I mean, sure top 25 defensive players, both top 10 defensive backs, but there are a lot of players and at lot of positions out there to assert that they're both top 25 players.

Of course, these lists are shite anyway. If they're really ranking the players according to their expected contributions then it doesn't compare actual skill since different teams need different contributions from their players. This coming year, a good QB for the hokies will have a much bigger contribution than an equally good linebacker. So it's more about your skill set as it relates to your team's needs. And if they're ranking by skill then someone tell me how they can compare a kicker to an O-line man...

I want to say I saw him listed at #11 in the ACC....which I thought was low but whatever

I haven't looked at the list but really appreciate the fact that we have someone who is potentially the best player in the country at his position and he's a rising true sophomore. We are lucky indeed. The secondary is going to be something special this year, and this gives Bud all sorts of options to dial up the pressure. This leads to my 2nd 2014 prediction (so far).....Dadi, Marshall, Maddy, and Ekanem all have 5+ sacks this year.

So what you are saying is no one will know who

Or even where, we dial up the pressure?

What really rankles me is seeing Vernon Hargraves III at #13 when statistically Fuller was a better corner on a better overall defense, on a better team. One has to assume this is the SEC bias of the world wide leader.

ESPN rated him higher coming out of HS so they have to keep justifying it.

Who plays opposite VHIII? It surely isn't Facyson. My bet is that people rarely throw his way because the other corner isn't in the same league as he is. On the other hand, with Facyson on the opposite side of Fuller, Fuller would get more chances to make plays, and he'd be thrown at more often.

Don't get me wrong, Fuller > VHIII (which is just two channels higher than VH1). So I guess Fuller >= VHIV.

On a random side note, apparently Google Ad Services thinks I really like Thai ladies.

I get those same ads for "asian/Thai ladies looking for American men age 30 to 70." All I can think is that's quite an age range.

About a year ago I had to replace a toilet in a bathroom that I remodeled and was comparing prices online. For a solid 6 months after, my screen was bracketed with pictures of fancy Japanese toilet bowls that clean your butt while warming the seat... and plain old Home Depot toilets too.

When I was in Japan a few years ago, one of the bathrooms at the place I stayed was in a really small room with just enough room for the toilet and a standing adult. The toilet was designed with a sink on top that turned on when you flushed and drained into the tank for the next time you flushed. I always thought it was a pretty interesting and innovative feature that saved both space and water.

I think its outrageous that Vernon Hargreaves III was put in front of Kendall. Kendall has more pass breakups and twice the amount of interceptions. Stats aside, Kendall was a better cornerback overall IMO
