Trevon Hill is not afraid to speak his mind.

So this happened.

And than this happened.

Brown responded.

And if you want a chuckle.

Good to see that Trevon has confidence in himself and I tend to agree with Brown being overrated (Sweat made him look better than he was at times and Brown had a tendency to take off plays.) Hopefully the comment about him being better than Sweat doesn't bother Sweat.

I agree. The concern here is that a guy who has already committed to us is calling out a guy we are going after very hard. It'll be pretty frustrating if this becomes an issue.
EDIT: Yea I'll stop worrying.

My guess is that he wouldn't sweat it.

And that he wants to play at VT to prove he is better than Hill. Just sayin'.

I thought that he might think that as well. Also he doesn't even have a twitter so there is a chance he has know idea that Hill even said that.

Like vtfly said, even if Sweat does find out I doubt he will care and if he does he knows that if he commits to Tech he will have the opportunity to beat him out.

i see what you did there

Is there a DE out there that doesn't think he's the best? I'd rather that then thinking he sucks.

Also Sweat's not on twitter and I doubt he cares.

A la verga. Just play ball, kids.

Not the bagman VT deserves, but the bagman VT needs right now.

Haha a la verga AND a pic of Daniel L. Crandall. Anyone who knows me who read this probably thinks u are me..

Haha excellent!

I'll bet you have some strong opinions about burritos, too.

I think this pretty much seals the deal. Now Sweat HAS to commit to VT so that they can duel it out on the field. First to 20 sacks wins.

Truly a genius move by Hill.

I love some competition between players. That's how we get awesome sets of guys. It's not a knock on Sweat, it's a call to come prove himself.

Really, all Trevon said was that he was better than Sweat. The true knock was on Brown. So while Brown may have taken the bait and came back at him, Trevon will get the last laugh as he's holding the Commonwealth Cup.

Hoo or not, I thought what Brown said made it sound like he is a bit more mature/well-reasoned. Except the part about thinking his team was going to do well, of course. I like that Hill is confident though and hope he plays with the slighted mindset.

Brown posted a picture on instagram of a tweet from a Hill then wrote a paragraph about Hill was a hater and how UVA was going to shock the world. His social media game is overrated just like his ability to play football is.

call me old fashioned, but it makes me cringe to compare the grammar between the posts. Nothing needs to be said so fast that it comes out incomprehensible. Athletes need to remember that they represent universities. While I don't expect all of our football players to be geniuses, it'd be nice to see them present themselves well a la Maddy and Byrn at the ACC media days.

In all fairness, his poor grammar is more a reflection of the education he has had up until this point. He has yet to actually attend Tech and be given the opportunity to become a well-spoken young man through a top-notch college education.

Actually grammar and Twitter have nothing to do with each other whatsoever.

Yes, sometimes people use abbreviations and text-speak due to the character limit, but why does that preclude decent grammar?

I thought they were kind of like matter and anti-matter.

Please don't hate on my high school :-(

Alright. I seem to have ruffled some feathers, so to those that down-voted my original point, let me clarify.

hokie07ME said, "Athletes need to remember that they represent universities. While I don't expect all of our football players to be geniuses, it'd be nice to see them present themselves well a la Maddy and Byrn at the ACC media days."

I was trying to say that it is a bit unfair to Trevon Hill for fans to expect Trevon, who is entering his senior year of high school, to be a representative of the university he has yet to attend and to express himself publicly as well as two college seniors.

I also think it is unfair to VT, as VT has yet to have the opportunity to mold this young man in ways that both Big Lu and the Paperboy have been, being in the program as long as they have.

I have no problem with Trevon's grammar, or that of any of the other Twitter users involved in the original conversation. I was simply stating that the current state of his grammar is due to factors other than VT and it is a bit unfair to judge him on it in response to hokie07ME's comment.

Now, I see that some may view my original comment as callous or disparaging towards Trevon's high school or upbringing and perhaps Trevon himself. This was not my intent at all.

Calling his grammar "poor", may suggest that I am looking down on or judging him and was, perhaps a poor choice of words. Using good grammar and being well-spoken is more a result of family, environment, and early (elementary/middle school) education than what high school a young person attends. Nowadays, these things are just not stressed as much as they used to be. Is it a bad thing or a good thing or is it just different? I don't know. What I do know is that times change. I still have some pet peeves (when to use an adjective versus an adverb; "good" and "well" are both only four characters), but I long ago realized that many people view the internet as a place where proper spelling and grammar are superfluous and there is no changing those people's minds. I may not agree, but I do not get bent out of shape trying to correct people, nor do I look down on them for how they choose to express themselves. I just try to represent myself the best that I can in public forums. At home, my grammar sucks.

So, if you believed my original comment was somehow meant as an insult to Trevon, or his family, or his high school, then I am sorry, but that was most certainly not the case. I am ecstatic that Trevon is going to be a Hokie and I love the fire that he is displaying in his tweets. I hope that every time he steps onto the practice field, in the weight room, or onto Worsham Field that he wants to prove to everyone that he is as good as he knows that he is.

Well, as for me, I think you did that good.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Ugh. I hate this.

OK. I went down the rabbit hole. I hate myself for it, but this is what I pulled up.

Thats brotherly love. Like Kendall competing with Kyle & Correy. Like Trey against Terrel & Tremaine. Its all gonna be fine if Sweat & Travon join hokienation.
