Saw this on reddit r/cfb and thought it was pretty interesting.

I got up to 107, but I missed some MAC and non-power teams.

I got 87! That was a lot harder than I thought it would be
Thanks
88. That was tough. The southwest is my nemesis. All those square states...I know there's football out there...
Yea, my main strategy was to work from Washington down then across from west to east.
I ran through the power conferences, but kept getting distracted as I randomly thought of other schools (definitely jumped from LSU to UL-Lafayette), so I got a bit lost. Oh well. Facepalmed on a few that I had missed.
also 107
97! and i missed some easy ones haha. you get thinking about the MAC teams and you forget some of the power schools
haha yeah, I fell into that trap as well. 102, but missed a big-12 school and a pac-10 school, both of which are ranked in the latest coach's poll.
115! But I missed a Big Ten team and a couple other easy ones.
The gamemakers make a mistake. UVA isn't a FBS school.
123. Missed 1 Big 12 (surprisingly), 1 MAC, 1 C-USA, and 2 Sun Belt.
Sidenote: Sporcle is my #1 anti-work website.
Wait, why isn't TKP your #1 anti-work website?
TKP is SRS BSNS.
105 for me. I ran out of time in the south.
96.
Darn MAC, and small Florida schools.
I'd be curious if they kept tab on the most-forgotten schools: UL-Lafayette perhaps?
Thanks!
They do. If you click "Full Results" after you finish the quiz it lists every school in order of how frequently they are identified. 71% get Louisiana-Lafayette--I think a lot of people remember them from when they upset (I think it was) Arkansas a couple years ago. ODU and Appalachian State are actually the two most-forgotten. The TKP demographic probably had an easier time with those.
I remembered ULLafayette because that was where Ricky Bustle went there as head coach. I did well, but somehow got a mental block on the state of Ohio and missed three there somehow - Bowling Green was one obvious one I missed. I got everything in the West & South. I had to re-type a few until I learned their logic in naming certain ones.
100 here - that was fun. nice share!
I got 125. Missed Troy, Texas State, and Ball State.
When I got to uVa i couldn't go any further. Was laughing too hard.
I went to type "Virginia Tech" and and it took only the first pronoun. I was not happy.
I knew that was gonna happen. So I typed "Tech" first, and then typed "Virginia" in front of it.
I got 98. I fell into the trap of going state by state and having trouble in the south a little for what ever reason. I got some of the hard ones right but shamefully missed a couple easy ones that should have put me higher in score :(. I missed 1 ACC school and 1 SEC school. I will just leave it at that
I got 107 but the state of Indiana was not kind to me. Somehow I forgot Purdue, Notre Dame and Ball State. *insert "LOLUVA wishes they could forget Ball State" joke*
First time I got a rather embarassingly low 88. Missed some big ones like Notre Dame and Ball State (I mean, UVA thinks they're big-time, amiright?)
Did it again and got all 128. I feel good about myself now.
beast mode.
85 but the timer got me. Using a tablet and as I was typing it would tag it but I would continue spelling. Lot of schools don't start with ate. Wouldn't realize till later, so lost some valuable time.
110. I went geographically. Started with Washington and cleared the western states (almost) up to Texas where I missed a couple and then more in Louisiana and Mississippi and Alabama. Biggest blunder was Boise State. Couldn't figure out who else played in Idaho other than Idaho. doh!
Your not the only one.
Side quiz:
Name the 5 teams that do NOT have University in their school name.
BC is one
Georgia Tech
is this just FBS or what? Major conferences?
Army, Navy? (just guessing here)
Ah yes, Air Force probably, too. All academies
EDIT: Since the post above me got edited, my post now looks pretty stupid. I can't wait to find out the answer though...
EDIT2: Now VTim has edited again, so I make sense again. Thanks, VTim!
I edited my edit for it to make more sense. I went back and added AF probably at the same time you were posting
All good! BC, GiT, and the 3 academies.
Another side quiz:
Name the only school mascot that is specifically female.
Delaware Blue Hens.
Well that didn't take long.
I was gonna say UVA. Would i still be wrong?
Not wrong, but the politically correct term would be transgender.
Bonus answer: Buzz (GT). Male yellowjackets don't have stingers.
101. I didn't know Texas State was a thing.
The only reason I did is because I took them to the promised land on NCAA 13.
I got 114, but missed some serious gimme's. Started out west, like many of you, since it's a little more sparse out there. Missed same easy ones in big conferences (Cal, Stanford, TCU, Vandy) and some of the other similar misses (South Alabama, FAU, FIU). Surprisingly did pretty well with most of the MAC and the cluster up in the northeast.
got 107, but missed some easy ones (how did I miss auburn????!!!). Tried going through the conferences, but abandoned that after ACC. B1G, and SEC
118. I play too much NCAA 14. Missed a handful in the states with a bunch of schools (Ohio, Texas, Cali).
118. I missed a couple big ones trying to come up with all the damn directional schools.
I got 118/125. LOL at the two circled ones I missed. Side note: so many schools in Texsa and OH.
Great share! Got 87, missing half of Texas and Cal. Not too bad considering I just got done driving back from the 757.
98. Not bad for 7:30 on a Monday morning
