And this is probably very generous based on the quality of college football New Mexico sees every year. I would expect us to be extremely under-represented in a reddit/cfb poll. I can say pretty confidently there is no wide-spread contempt for Ole Miss in New Mexico.

I feel like a majority of the Northern VA area is either Hokie Alums or hates VT because they are UVA or UMD fans. I hear the "Overrated VT" whining constantly. The comment sections in WaPo articles concerning the Hokies are hilarious because there is always one or two die hard VT haters with screen names like Terpie01 or HooBoy08 spewing nonsense.

Eh, to me MD hating Duke the most is a stretch, I grew up in MoCo and it seemed like everyone hated Duke regardless of sport or situation. Even though Cutcliffe is a stand up guy, people still think of guys like Laettner, Reddick, Singler, and other bball players when they think of Duke.

It would be cool to see that we're also the most hated in NC, Md, Penn, etc. That would mean we were so dominant that the fan bases in those states feared us more than any other team, even their in-state rival. Keep working at it guys, we'll get there!

I'm not sure it is just the football team. People that have no affiliation with the university don't understand the alumni and how much they love the school. I'm always wearing something VT (and always looking to buy more), I can't wait to get to Bburg, etc.
We LOVE the SCHOOL, the town, and the teams. It really is a very unique place and outsiders just don't understand the enthusiasm that we have for it.
I didn't make a home game last season for the first time since 1999. I moved to Atlanta and the Hokies were down here twice, so it was really difficult to justify the trip. I'm going to the W&M game and I CANNOT wait. Sure the game will be good to go to but I'm equally as excited to see the campus, walk around downtown, etc. We just had a little one in June and I'm really looking forward to walking around with the little guy. He'll have no idea what is going on, but it'll be cool for me.

A whopping 61 people in WV responded. haha. I think they still hate Pitt more up there, regardless of what this says. Maybe if we had still been beating WVU up on the regular, I could believe this. But they sell and wear foul shirts concerning Pitt still, so I think that's gotta be the real answer.

They forgot to fix Nevada in both maps. Nobody there cares about Michigan. They hate UNLV if you survey anyone outside of Vegas, and Nevada-Reno if surveyed in Vegas.

Seems about right because everyone I encounter in the Richmond/Midlothian area either loves The Hokies or hates them.
