Per Andy Bitter's tweet earlier this afternoon:
Something to watch RT @AriWasserman Braxton Miller told the media that he's 100 percent today. But he isn't. http://t.co/u2keez665v— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) August 10, 2014
Miller had shoulder surgery after he took a physical pounding against Clemson in the Orange Bowl and apparently has not been fully participating in practice in their first week of fall camp.
Miller told reporters that he was throwing all summer at B1G10 media day, but apparently the coaching staff has been limiting his throws. This may not be much of a story now, but as the season inches closer, if Miller isn't fully participating this could be a major story going into the Hokies visit to Columbus, especially with the Buckeyes replaces most of their offensive line and their top running back.

Comments
That's interesting.
Remember OSU had a great back up last year in Kenny Guiton who is gone now. If Miller can't go against VT it's hard to say they won't miss a beat unlike last year. I still expect him to play however but I wouldn't be surprised if he weren't anywhere near 100%.
Bud's going to have his boys' ears pinned back for this one. Deliver a few hits early, give him something to think about for the rest of the day.
Our defense will swarm like sharks with blood in the water
(since it's Shark Week)
Swarm like a Sharknado, you say?
Braxton will be as nervous as a long tailed cat on a porch full of rocking chairs
if he's not, then he should be. the defense is gonna be absolutely jazzed for that game. they're gonna be comin at him hard.
If for some reason he's out or not 100% when we play, and we win, I can imagine ESPN's storyline.
It provides them all with a convenient excuse.
Shoot, I'll take the win any way it's presented. With so many big-time recruits (and some big-time fans, such as your truly) in attendance and the eyes of the nation upon us, I don't care how the scoreboard ends up with a bigger number next to the Hokies' name, I just want it to happen. National perception is that OSU is so loaded with talent they could beat us with their backups anyways, so if Miller can't go, we'll test out that little theory.
Agreed.
I agree as well. I just know they'd love to put an asterisk beside a potential upset. I hope we oblige either way. Go Hokies.
Hokie13's comment reminded me of this little gem...
This. It seems like every big recruit we've been after anOSU and Tennessee has been in the mix for as well. If we beat OSU and then UT that will give us a leg up (regionally) with some of these high profile recruits.
And Florida St and Florida and Georgia and Clemson and Michigan St and S. Carolina and so on. Schools are "offering" a lot more players these days. I'll bet those schools are saying the same thing about virginia tech.
Something tells me they will forget about all of our guys that are banged up and questionable or still practicing but on the mend.
Actually, don't be so sure of that. The ACC has momentum right now, and with FSU having won the Natty title last year, and Clemson looking to be a good team as well, its in ESPN's best interests to hype the Coastal to get some movement there for the ACC title game at the end of the year. Should we go in there and win against OSU, don't be shocked if we suddenly start to see a few of the guys on the mothership buy into the program this year, even if Braxton can't play.
I like the way you're thinking.
I wouldn't mind if Braxton miller misses the first two games for OSU this season.
I'm not hoping we win this game. I expect us to WIN this game. Our offense is about to turn the corner, as long as we can get into the top 40 in offense to go along with a top 5 defense we should be able to silence all the haters.
That's great that you have that optimism, but I'm going into this game exactly the way I did before the Alabama game. If we win, f*ckin awesome. If we lose, we haven't lowered ourselves any. We will find out a lot about our team in that game either way.
Normally I'm right there with you. But it seems like every time that I say that for a big game, it ends up the wrong way; Alabama both times, Boise St, Clemson twice in 2011, FSU in 2012, Stanford, BC in 07. So for the sake of hoping that we win, I am going to say I expect us to lose. (Please let me be wrong). This could be HUGE for our program; Recruiting, putting us back into national prominence and reminding everyone that we have been the dominant team from the ACC since we joined. Plus the confidence it would give us for the rest of the year.
Top 40. Wow. Noted.
To our team, this news should not mean anything. No place for complacency. All we have to remember is a limping Tino Sunseri at QB winning the game for Pitt in 2012. And he was no runner.
Didn't Urban Cryer learn this from Belicheck? If I remember correctly he used to pull this with Tebow to keep his status uncertain and keep teams guessing?
Attack, attack attack!

I want to see the D start the game like this:
"I see you there Braxton"
Then
Then:
I am skeptical that I really want to see any of the Ohio State team in a bikini.
The cheerleaders?
Still no
The mascot?
now you're onto something
I used to think you were crazy…
…(but now I see you're Brutus.)
Some pictures, then, for your enjoyment, though someone with photoshop skills might have to find one to put a bikini on.
Can I put in a request for a Mascot Mock thread in a few weeks?
Mascot Mock returned for the Duke game last year, and the superstitious side of me doesn't get a good vibe...
I am kind of want him to play at the same time not. I don't want to see/hear the excuses if we beat them without Miller, but at the same time, I also want to see how we stack up against them with Braxton in. But as long as we win, fuck it.
Well, you never want to win because of other team's injuries. Oh hell, who am I kidding?
bp.blogspot.com
oops, I see what you did there. Just Win Baby!
Our DB's will ensure the ball doesn't touch the ground!
He may be the biggest unknown in college ball this season. Will he complete more to his team, or the other. We'll see if that decision is made for him.
Miller or not, play whoever. any given Saturday we have a legit chance to win against anyone. That's the beauty of college football. Upsets. We can win this game.
I think buds already getting ready for Braxton's exam
According to 11 Warriors, Miller is still out and not performing in drills.
Tossed a few tentative passes on Friday but hoping to do limited practices starting next week.

Seems to me from the comments that osu fans are scared and in panic mode already:
I don't know if they are scared of us. I had to scroll down a long way to find the first mention of VT:
"I am not too particularly worried about the first five games (Navy, VT, Kent St, Cincy, and Maryland) but any one of those teams (minus Kent St) could give OSU a tougher game than expected. OSU can pace itself with 2 bye weeks before Oct 18th. But this team better be peaking in November. 7 regular season games without a bye week is brutal."
That sorta brought a smile to my face. Sorta.

If you continue reading, another does mention being weary of us..
Overall, this is not good for anOSU. Even if Braxton is fully healed, the fact that its two weeks prior to the first game and he still hasn't been taking meaningful snaps or throws, his timing with the receivers will be off.
Another poster..
Top news story right now, that's for sure. Today is apparently a huge day for him. If he can't hit the deep throw to the TE French talked about, we could be in business.
We won't be able to hit any deep throws against us because #FULLER
1st: Bill and Mary
Then on 9/6:
The thing is, I would actually prefer that they "overlook us" than be scared of us. That way they don't come out with their backs against the wall and come together as a team.
yup....the closer it gets to game week the closer they begin to sweat....

You cant say Sweat on this board without getting folks (me) excited.
