Not too sure this will happen, but for grins, has a true freshman ever overtaken an incumbent at VT? I'm sure there are a few but Tyrod is the only one that really comes to mind..

I think the only way this happens is if Edmunds' injury is still an issue, or if he has lost a step because of it.

I am having visions of a (I think it was) 2010 Alabama type backfield -- They'd start off w/ Ingram, then Richardson would come in and just destroy tired defenses.

Just a little perspective:

lol

It's great he's doing well but he needs to do it in real games before we start swinging from 6 to midnight on this guy.

some more perspective:

outside of McKenzie, the RBs rushed 35 times for 117 yards (3.34 yds/carry) against a depleted defense (Detrick Bonner, Luther Maddy, Brandon Facyson, Ronny Vandyke and Dahman McKinnon all out)

McKenzie averaged 2.67 yds/carry outside of his breakout run

Still, I am excited to see McKenzie play though

True, but that's pretty typical for running backs. I mean, Adrian Peterson routinely has tons of runs for 1-3 yards, then breaks off maybe two or three big runs to get over 100
