On the Game Programs page, The 1973 and 1975 vs. UVA programs are epic.
'82 vs. Wake Forest is a close second
Yea, uh, what is that?
Gets my vote for 1st. It's like they took the 1979 Florida State cover to the next level.
love the old flyers. that 78 Tulsa game was on the day I was born.
No love for 1990 bowling green? Grillin' Beamer?
I see on the '82 vs Miami cover, there appears to be "reward" stickers on the helmet. What's the history on this at Tech? (And no, I don't want to bring them back.)
This was a thing back in the Bill Dooley era. They were simple stars awarded for good plays, grading out, etc. Rumor has it that you would get one if you yelled, "Give it to the tailback!" or "Run up the middle!" during a game.
1980 Band Day is trippy
They actually put Marcus on the vote for All-Lane QB?
Edit: I guess he did meet the criteria, I'd just rather not keep bringing his name up and associated with VT.
I can't wait till Sept 1. I'm voting for LT3 and he will win in a landslide. Of that I am certain!! /sarcastica
That has got to be my favorite. Not only was it just comically corny, but it was so awful it effectively kicked him off the cover. Before then, he was on it 4 times in 3 seasons, after only twice in 23 seasons (2003 JMU, 2011 App St).
If Whit was around then this cover would be Frank opening a full blown smoker full of TURKEY LEGS with the entire team in uniform in the background ready to pounce!
Looks like grilled wahoo.
OMG, They used Va. Tech on the covers of 1965, 1970 and 1972. Would someone please alert the media masses that there is a minority of Hokie fans that never want VT to be callled Va. Tech.

Maybe you should take your objection up with University Relations
While Va. Tech might have been acceptable back in the 60's and 70's, it is explicitly not acceptable now.
Did not know that VPI is not allowed. Interesting.
I don't understand VPI and Virginia Polytechnic Institute being banned. Afterall, the name of the school is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Because both are only part of the name. The University has an official name, and you can't just hack off half of it. How would you feel if, instead of "Virginia Tech," we were called "Virginia?"
I think I see your point.
Aack!!
How is Mike Vick not on a single program cover from the 1999 season?
Don't you make those prior to the season? I mean he was just a redshirt freshman, at the time - hadn't blown up by then.
I think the 1970 Villanova game is still my favorite:
Did anyone else think it was weird that they made programs for two games were never even scheduled? 2010 JMU and 1998 Temple.
What do you mean?
He means that these two games never actually happened. Here are the schedules from the 1998 and 2010 football seasons. You can clearly see that these two games were never scheduled nor played. It's almost as if they've been wiped from existence:
Well, the 2010 game was whited out.
Its crazy, I go to ESPN and I see the same thing
Epic season - should have won vs. Boise - then rattled off 11 straight wins!
"Dear VMI Keydets,
We've got a better cannon and we've got women. F*** you.
Sincerely,

VT 1973 Football Program"
The most random cover ever. Would have been so much better if it included it your comment. Definitely made me laugh out loud
1973 was a good year...for females on your game program cover.
The fact that your name is VMI Hokie made me appreciate your appreciation so much more.

Reminds me of the bumper sticker back in the 90's:
Women at the Citadel? What's next, men at UVa?
And that receiving corps (see the 2006 cover, but going back to 2004 of course).
