OT: Every Simpsons Ever

So the greatest week and a half of life that can exist outside of Hokie football season started today. I think me and my brother calculated that FXX will show 11.8 days of The Simpsons aka the best TV show of all time. Joe tweeted this earlier today

So TKPers, what's your favorite Simpsons episode ever? Or your favorite line? Character? What was the first episode you ever saw? The one that had the most impact on you? Favorite running gag? Or anything else you can think of, I'm currently watching episodes from 1990 and it's amazing some of the social commentary from them is so poignant today.

Personally my first episode was the Road Rage one where Marge gets a Range Rover. I was probably 8 years old. From then on every night I could convince my parents I would watch the two episodes on FOX5. I asked for DVD seasons for my birthday and now have 5 or 6 seasons, and now I name the year an episode aired if it's from 1993-2002 with scary accuracy.

Although the best seasons were 4-9, there are very few shows that can last 25+ seasons, Matt Groening you are a human treasure (Futurama is amazing also).

"We were at the pinnacle, and we did it for years," Foster says. He pauses, nods, takes a deep breath. "And I did it with the best guy in the business."

The scene where Homer detonates the M-320, which is soon after your last frame, is the funniest Simpsons moment in my opinion. I'm cracking up just typing this. The end when the dishwasher is protruding outward from the blast and Homer whistles and walks away innocently....oh man.

Maaaaaaaax Powerrrr. He's the MAN who's name you'd love to toooouuuuuuuch. But you mustn't TTTOOOOOuuuuucchh...

I am not a huge Simpsons fan (ie I haven't kept up with the series, but, like anyone who is 32 years old, I've seen plenty of them). Here are some highlights:

Mr Plow is probably my favorite episode, if only because I can't think of many specific episodes. I thought the movie was kinda disappointing, although it had its moments.

Some fantastic quotes I use in daily life:
Everything's coming up Horse...
Boo-urns! (Are you saying BOO or BOO-URNS?). BOOOO. (I was saying Boo-urns...)
Listen, you don't like me and I don't like you. (You don't like me? I like you...)

Having said that, I have Futurama memorized like the back of my hand.

Isn't it a Simpsons episode where Homer says he knows something like the back of his hand then looks at the back of his hand and shrieks "Where did that come from!?"

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

Forbidden donut......

I used to catch them as shorts on the Tracey Ulmann Show.
No idea which one was the first one I saw.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I also like:
Bart: You're gay for mole man!
Lisa: You're gay for Mole Man
Mole Man: No one's gay for Mole Man...

It's like kissing a peanut!

I like the episode where Homer trains to climb Mt Springfield

Also like the one where Homer goes back to college. Or anything Hans Moleman. And of course the Max Power episode and the Scorpio episode

@VTimHokie85

"max the envelope and so on". i use that all the time. that and unleashing the awesome power of apples.

The Film Festival one was a good crossover episode back when the Critic was still on TV.

Hans Moleman Production Presents...

That being said, I can't at all wait to see the Family Guy/Simpsons crossover episode. The preview alone made me lol.

Barney's submission for the film festival could have won an Oscar if they had a category for Fictional Director of a Fictional Short Film in an Animated Series. It was such a powerful glimpse into Barney's psyche and emotional state.

This is from Lisa Gets an A, but when Homer decided to keep the lobster as a pet and named him "pinchy," I lost it - especially at the end when he is crying but enjoying the dinner...

Dad you're eating it all. Pinchy would've wanted it that way.

My wife is tired of hearing it I'm sure at this point.

I just want to say that The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios is the absolute best/coolest/silliest ride I've ever been on. I'm dreaming of the day I can make it down to Orlando again for that.

Have you been there since they improved the Springfield area around the ride? It's absolutely amazing. One of the highlights of my life thus far is having a beer at the bar at Moe's.

What! No! Now I really need to go back

I forgot my favorite episode is probably Lisa's Wedding from 1994 where a fortune teller predicts Lisa's first love in the year 2010. It's hilarious to see how they imagined the world would be in 2010, some things are obviously jokes (the crying robots) but others are scarily accurate like the video-phone.

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

I always enjoy the Treehouse of Horror episodes. I really liked The Raven and The Shining parodies:

Marge: Go crazy?
Homer: Don't mind if I do!

I heard some guy got killed in New York City and they never solved the case. But you wouldn't know anything about that now, would you, Steve?

My favorite character was the screamapilar. It screams and is sexually attracted to fire.

So, I let my little girls watch yesterday and it's the Cheech and Chong episode followed by one where Krusty goes on a serious bender.

Had to cut it off. At a naive 8 and 5 years old, it was a little too much.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I missed out on the earliest episodes because of this. My mother hates the
show. After watching a few episodes from the second season last night
I now understand. And I will 33 in a few weeks. LOL

@AMB4VT

My mom hated the show so I could not watch for a time as a kid. And I wish I could remember the episode, but I finally caught one and my mom watched with me and it happened to be one with a great message/moment between Homer and Bart that the show would drop in from time to time, and after that she was ok with letting me watch. I think I was about 9 or so.

o/" I'm Mr. Plow, that's my name, that name again is Mr. Plow... o/"

Also, Colonel Homer (o/" Bunk with me tonight... o/"). Had forgotten the title.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Worst show...ever.

I don't know the episode name but it is the one where Homer gets to stay at home with a remote computer to do his job. The computer tells him to vent the reactor on a regular basis. Homer gets bored so he sets up one of those drinking bird toys to repeatedly press the Y key and then leaves. Homer comes home to find the bird fell over... doh.

That and when he tries to find the "Any" key. That was my start-up sound while at Tech.

Oh, the world of .wav files. I had that one for startup and for shut down I had Homer saying "That's it, I'm outta here!"

on my home computer as a kid i had it set up so whenever there was an error message you'd get the Nelson Muntz "Ha Ha".wav. My dad was not amused.
