This was much tougher than QB last week. For my first vote I went with Corey Moore, Bruce Smith, John Engleberger, and Darryl Tapp.
Yeah that top 4 looks locked in. Maybe next time this poll comes around we will be forced to name a top 5.

This was mine too - Moore and Engleberger were a heckuva combination.
I still remember watching poor Brandon Streeter playing QB for Clemson in 1998. It seemed like More and Engelberger were playing a game of who could hit the QB first. It was as brutal a beating as I have seen a QB take. Then he came to Lane the following season for more abuse.
Isn't the 1999 game when they interviewed his dad while he was getting mauled?

One of my favorite QB beat downs was Hunter Cantwell in the Gater Bowl in '05-'06. Literally beat the stuffing out of him.

Almost as good a game as against the team where the other teams coaches had to hide the QB's helmet to prevent him from going back in.

Not sure if you watched, but how would it compare to the beating that Pitt's Tom Savage took last year? By the end of the game I almost felt sorry for him. You could say the D-line ripped him apart ...savagely
Tough call, tough call. The Clemson beat down was pretty brutal - plus Clemson was a better all around ball club that year than Pitt was last year.
Streeter's was worse. I wish there was a better quality video floating around than the one on youtube. Amazingly, the game was not televised. There were times when he couldn't complete his drop after taking the snap before one or both of Moore and Engelberger were already in the pocket.
I chose the same ones as you. I went Tapp/Brown/Smith/Moore.
Tom Beasley whose last year was 1976 might be one to consider. If I recall correctly, he played with Pittsburgh on two of their four Super Bowl's from that era.
Watching Tapps motor was one of the coolest things I have seen in Lane. That dude was relentless. Trying to stop him on the O Line must have been pure hell.

I have to go Bruce, Cornell, Moore, and Tapp. But...Jason Worilds deserves an honorable something. When he was healthy, he was a beast.
I was about to say, "I missed Worilds!", but then I went back to look and he wasn't on the list...
I voted for Tapp in place of Worilds, but I thought he at least deserved the recognition on here. Worilds is a freak. I'm glad he's finally getting his chance to break out I'm Pittsburgh.
