Wish speedy recovery for #Wolverines commit Garrett Taylor (ACL) and #Clemson commit Clelin Ferrell (ACL and MCL), both out for season.— Mike Farrell (@rivalsmike) August 26, 2014
Both of these kids are Commonwealth studs that Tech tried to land. Stinks that they'll spend their senior seasons sidelined. Best wishes to them both.

Agreed. Best of luck to both of them.
Is there any real knee support available that doesn't restrict mobility? I'm guessing not, or else we'd see a lot of running backs wearing them.
How effective are the knee braces we see many linemen wearing?
My understanding of the knee braces you see many lineman wearing is that it minimally inhibits forward and backward movement of the knee, but is meant more to provide support against lateral movement of the knee, which is often what causes ACL and MCL tears.
Sergio Render posted on Facebook a few weeks ago after going to a doctor's appointment- doctor told him he had the knees of a 50 year old, even though he wore double braces. He also said "it is totally worth it" and "wouldn't change a thing"
When I hear quotes like that, I'm not reminded of valiant efforts & honor & pride, I'm reminded of Earl Campbell being rolled out in a wheelchair to midfield to be honored for 'being a warrior' as a young man. That's when Earl was in his early 40's.
